Les Vins de Vienne (Cuilleron Gaillard Villard)

La Chambée Condrieu Viognier 2022

This is a balanced, elegant Condrieu. It’s got rich, juice-oozing ripe fruit (only slightly tropical) on the nose, but not in an over-the-top way. There’s also a lightly smoky minerality. Soft and richly flavored in the mouth, but, again, somehow in a balanced way. Acids a little in the low side but heck, it’s Viognier. In a word, elegant. — 14 hours ago

Crozes-Hermitage Syrah 2019

Delicious wine from my brother. Thanks. Deep purple, lot going on here. It was a dinner party so I only got a glass and a half. :(. Excellent with beef stew and potatoes. — 8 months ago

Heluicum Vin de Pays des Collines Rhodaniennes Syrah 2018

It's sharp. Dark fruit (a plum for sure) and leather. Short oaky finish. — 6 years ago

So yummy - light skin contact makes it have an almost cider-like taste with a clean brightness to finish — 6 years ago

Badoux Vins (Henri Badoux)

Aigle les Murailles Chasselas 2018

2018 vintage of my favorite Swiss grocery store wine (33% off at Coop!). Unique grape/region, mild, low acidity, bit of fizz. This time with saffron risotto and balsamic chicken cutlets. Merry Christmas Eve eve 😜 — 7 years ago

Reasonable (good) but not spectacular and for 99$? Meyer lemon, jasmine, underripe white peach, apple. Not super interesting. — 4 months ago

The Paul Pernot wines have always underwhelmed me. Pity.

Les Barcillants Cornas Syrah 2019

Vintage 2019 | Walking on a barnyard, vanilla, stinky (positive!). Plums. Character. Good acidity, pleasant bitters. Balanced. Spices, cherries. As always tasted blind. In my notes: screames for a cheese. — 8 months ago
