Great fruit even at this age. The only issue I had besides the slight bell pepper is how rough the tannins were and the coconut on the nose. American oak? Not something i’d think Roy would use. — 8 months ago
Flash tasting; no formal notes. The 2018 “Clos du Roy” is a light ruby and showing deeper, darker fruit and more structure than the 2019 “Clos de Chênes” (as it should). Balanced. The finish is also longer and slightly more powerful than the Volnay. Better after 2028 — 2 years ago

A little farmyardy on opening, but still some pleasure in this forgotten oldie from the cellar when it opened up… — 7 months ago
Great lineup & dinner with Louis Michel. He showcased his amazing wines in what he termed were difficult vintages. — 9 months ago
Still showing a lot of tannic and acidic structure, but enough fruit to keep it in check once it had a few hours of air, youthful still, and brawny. — a year ago
Mild smooth and dry — 6 years ago
A bit over the edge...won’t say pass by the hours of glory are behind. Still good acidity but short mouth fell. — 7 years ago
