Great bang for the buck. Yeasty savory bread, macerated peach, overripe/candied pineapple, and a long creamy mouthfeel with fine perlage. An expressive ripe style that is very well executed for the price point — 5 months ago
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (78%), Petite Verdot (6%), Carmenere (6%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Syrah (5%). Dark ruby color. Aromas of blue and black fruit, slate, and cedar wood. There was also a slight hint of green pepper that blew off rather quickly. Flavors of ripe blue and black berries/cherries, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and caramel. Touch of Asian spice on the long and persistent finish. Nicely balanced and quite fresh. Powerful and complex, but quite elegant at the same time. Appreciate the bottle, Kase. — 7 months ago

30 years old. Of course it shows a bit its age, of course there is an orange rim in the glass, of course the nose is mostly tertiary aromas (wet forest soil, mushroom, earth, leather...) but there is still plenty of life in there! There is still fruit (strawberry) and some dried, fading rose petal scent too. The secondary are still here too with tobacco and a bit of cedar. The palate is still well designed by a wonderful acid backbone with a rather wide and long drive that lasts a very long while. Some strawberry, red forest berries, some good grip, some dusty tannins that integrated fully now and the fresh finish which lasts with notes of rose, fruit and a bit of mint. Not the best I've had but a nice tasting experience with the family. — 6 years ago
Really lovely Lirac, Grenache and Syrah show mostly, the proprietor (Rodolphe des Pins) (in my opinion!!) dragged his feet too long in joining the Lirac appellation, but his wines have LONG been undervalued and are fantastic at their pricepoint, I personally have more bottles of this, which I expect to age well!! — 5 months ago
A big Rioja. Surprisingly ready to drink, tanins have softened, still powerful. Dark garnet color, aromatic nose of earth and herbs. Round Palate balanced and tasty. Recommended. Great VfM. — 6 months ago
— 8 months ago

Deep Ruby red color with aromas of rich red fruits, sweet spice, smoke and cedar notes, aged in French oak. On the palate flavors of black cherry, blackberry and currants with vanilla, tobacco, spice and licorice. Fine ripe tannins, long finish ending with fruit, sweet spice and toasty oak character. Nice, good now — 5 months ago
With a 2 hour decant (needs 3) the 2000 Lalanden has noticeable Petit Verdot and pales in comparison to its sibling the Baron in this vintage. Still a very good wine! — 7 months ago

Excellent! It took very little time to breathe which was unexpected for a 2011. We will be buying more of this if we can find it. — a year ago
