Beautiful a bit sweet with vanilla notes, Oakey, pear green apple. — 7 years ago
Lovely aged Riesling , melon fruit flavor, and fruit-filled nose almost pineapple. Sweet Riesling , having a crisp acidic finish. Still gold in color despite its age. A great value at $19. Perfect with Indian food. — 8 years ago

Evolving beautifully and likely not at its peak yet, this wine was gorgeous with cherry and cranberry compote flavors touched with cedar and dried herbs. On the richer, riper side of things but only just. A very fine way to spend an afternoon with friends (six feet distant). Well done @Ehren Jordan — 6 years ago

A typical Turley from their "higher octane days" under Ehren Jordan (I think Tegan (current winemaker) is pulling ripeness levels down a bit these days) this is showing nice classic Zin spiciness on the nose and very ripe fruit, sweetness/glycerin + some VA on the palate.
For a wine/style that was probably not intended to be cellared it is holding up nicely at age 12 and actually gained in the glass after 60+ min.
I would opt to drink up (or for fun hold for 30 more years and throw it in blind with 2003 Burgundies/2009 CNDP).

“The 2014 Pinot Noir Hirsch Vineyard is a total knock-out. Dark, rich and explosive, the 2014 possesses magnificent depth and pedigree to burn. The flavors are dense, sweet and wonderfully nuanced throughout. A wine of extraordinary, almost Nebbiolo-like aromatic intensity and firm tannin, the Hirsch is going to need at least a few years to unwind, but it is very clearly a special wine. Hints of rose petal, mint and sweet red berry linger on the long, enticing finish. My tasting at Failla was one of the highlights of the two weeks I spent in Sonoma earlier this year. Ehren Jordan's 2014s are superb across the board. The wines are made in a mid-weight style that balances forward fruit with the aromatics and phenolics that these cooler sites tend to confer on their own... Simply put, 2014 is one of the most impressive vintages I have tasted at Failla.” (AG) (1/2016) — 7 years ago
