Mag- on open ivy/leather. Dark garnet color. Aerated for 3hrs- deep blue fruit and forest floor, touch of spice with a back palate sweetness (strawberry). At 6 hrs cleaned up blue fruit, very subtle spice and acid:fruit was more in balance. Fine wine. — 10 years ago

1990 DRC Echezeaux. Drank at lunch w DS and Carrie at The Ivy. Some air had gotten in and top felt spongey, so we were nervous, but this wine was excellent. It was a beautiful, dusty brick color, velvety, lush and round to drink. Such a treat! — 10 years ago

1999 DRC Romanee St. Vivant. Lunch at The Ivy w FcClure. Met the Aussies at this lunch. We decanted for a little over an hour before drinking and it was absolutely gorgeous. This wine was perfect. Such a treat- we really enjoyed this wine. — 10 years ago

2005 DRC Grand Echezaux Burgundy. Drank at lunch w DS and Jan at The Ivy. This wine needed time and really came around and was much more complex and drank like we had hoped it would. Awesome. — 10 years ago
