Always a favorite, the Amestoi
Rubentis Rosé 2014 is a slightly effervescent, refreshing, classic Txakolina pink. Made from 150 year-old indigenous Hondarribi Zuri and Hondarribi Beltza grapes, it displays fresh, vibrant notes of pie cherries, hibiscus, and turbinado sugar. In the mouth, tart red fruit takes a back seat to minerality—oyster shells, sea foam, limestone and saline notes curl and coil around a mouthwatering, lemon pithy finish. 11% ABV — 10 years ago
Nothing better than rose on a hot summers day! — 12 years ago
Light, crisp with lemon and strong minerality. The acid is not light, but this is very refreshing on a hot, sunny day. — 9 years ago
First wine opened for our homemade grilled pizza night. Great bottle to start with. Opened and let sit for about 2 hours-wanted to come across a little hot with the alcohol being so high but turned out to be perfect. Definitely a bottle to share! Black jam fruits on the nose-smoke, spice and a hint of herbs on the finish. Fun bottle! — 10 years ago
2011: all varieties. Meaty, lavender, garden herbs, smoky, but still very vibrant red fruit. Lovely vibrancy of red fruit and all Mouvedre and Grenache aromatics. Sweet fruit, juicy acidity, hot indian spice and liquorice. Plum, cherry, spiced. Quite ready now. — 10 years ago
love this bottle on a hot summer day. great acid — 11 years ago
2011- gift from a friend. Excellent structure, tannins are very mellow but alcohol is still very hot. Fruit forward, possibly oxidized fruit (port-like fruit). — 11 years ago
A lush "vinho verde" - or green wine! Beats Casal Garcia and Santola. Very fresh tasting. Easily drink several bottles on a hot sunny day at lunch! Has a great little "fizz" feeling on the tongue. — 11 years ago
Love it. Better than last couple bottles I opened last year. Think it just entered my drinking window. The flavor is well integrated with the still powerful fruit characters and somewhat gripping tannin. Looking forward to the future development. It does tast a little bit hot to me, but still balanced enough. — 10 years ago
So good , perfumery nose, dried fruit smooth tannins surprisingly fresh from such a hot vintage — 10 years ago
Strong grapefruit. Refreshing. Great for a hot day. — 11 years ago
Backward and hot at first. It's built for a few years of laying down. Blackberry liqueur, tobacco and compost. It'll be a real steal in 5 years. — 11 years ago
Very bold, strong, long finish, good. NOT as good after opened for awhile — 11 years ago
Don't be afraid of the rose. Great on these hot Austin nights. Syrah grape. $9-11/bottle and an excellent buy — 12 years ago

I was so excited to open this 2006 Leoville Barton. The color was ruby red and dark crimson. Almost black. It opened very hot with just a short decant. The nose showed amazing cherry, raspberry, cocoa and coffee notes. On the palate the tannins are very evident. There are obvious dark berries and even some earthy vegetables and tobacco. Over the course of 2hrs it really came into its own and showed its meddle. This is a great wine and, in my opinion, a great value. While a bit young, this wine a still great now and will be amazing in 10 yrs. — 9 years ago
