New experience and fascinating. This is not funky hipster orange wine at all. This is clean, earl grey tea with forest honey. It’s amazing how much this tastes like a complex tea, but there is also some spiced tangerine. It actually evolves on the palate to baking spices galore, some rosemary, other woodsy notes. I am loving this. What an awesome exploration. I hope I can try other wines from this winery. Reminds me of some of the hiyu blends that are not what we are accustomed to as typical wine. Second wine from this producer and love it! This reminds me of my first few broc, donkey&goat, and hiyu wines. Made me think about what was possible in wine. By far one of the best orange wines I’ve had. This one is more jasmine tea and flowers everywhere. There’s some raspberry, sea salt, nectarine, more flowers, amazingly fresh and vibrant. High elevation pinot noir. Blackberries, wild strawberries, boysenberry, almost like smelling a berry soda without sweetness, there’s also bramble, flower perfume, leather on the nose. It’s crazy to smell. Palate is berries, more acidity, more leather and game, but a lot of berries and greenery. Definite alpine style. Really enjoyable. — 4 years ago

Very well made but not what I want from wine. I have posted how much I enjoy my beer in this style and if I tasted this blind I would have identified as such. Strong acidic backbone with complex flavors. Enjoyed but I can obtain the same flavor profile from other beverages. My score reflects how well this was executed . — 2 years ago
Amazing!!! So funny that this is described as hedonistic by hiyu. Just beautiful Grenache fruit. Nose of berries, mushroom, white pepper, but if game kind of like roast duck with a cherry compote. Palate is is just perfectly balanced with bright red fruits, cranberry sauce on peppered turkey, so much earth and herbs as well. Evolves over the first 90 minutes. Guessing it would even more over the night but we’ll probably drink it all by the time we finish cooking dinner. So freaking good. One of the most approachable wines from hiyu. 2019 is 100% Pinot noir. Nose is wonderful. Flowers, dark berries, baking spices, red apple skins, bit of earth. Palate is bigger than you’d expect. Big tannin, dusty red fruits, more herbs and baking spice, dried cherries, good tannin. It’s big a brawny but there’s this underlying lovely light flavors that continue to evolve on the palate. Like nothing I’ve ever had. Great nose of flowers, white pepper, honeysuckle, a touch of melon. Palate is such a great balance of acidity and flavor. Evolves as it opens. Way too easy to drink and went great with a simple chicken dinner. I get some great herbs and honey. So good. — 5 years ago
