My favorite Napa field blend. Huge dark fruit nose., not for the faint of heart!! It is drinking incredibly well. Decanted 6 hours prior to drinking... was silky smooth yet with incredible intensity and depths of flavored. 😍 love it! This was the 3rd wine opened — 10 years ago
Aging nicely. When I tried this one a few years ago, I did not care for it, but today this one rocks. 2007 still has lots of fruits left. Delicious. — 10 years ago
One of the most solid Pinot out there — 11 years ago
Always good to have a taste of home, and very little does that better than Gimblett Gravels Syrah. Great dark fruit, showing excellent leathery tones. — 8 years ago
Excellent Syrah. Fruit, tobacco nose. Excellent example of the varietal — 8 years ago
A great '94 Old Hill still cruising along. Beautiful aged Zinfandel nose of red cherries and mint. Still firmly tannic. — 9 years ago
Wonderful blend of primarily Malbec,Cab Sav, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Carmenere. So this 2011 has great young jammy fruit but it is not a fruit bomb in that it has complexity. — 9 years ago
I drank this at their open house, and at the time I thought it was one of the best 2011's we tasted. This is another example of a wine that will have the "experts" pondering the 2011 vintage. This may be similar to a 2003 for selected wineries. I'll go on the record that I like it - a lot. — 10 years ago
Nice old world style Cab from Chalk Hill. Dusty blackboard intermingling of herbs, eucalyptus. Blackberry and crushed black currant rising. Very nice — 11 years ago
Frank Family's top of the hill! Winston does it again. Only in their Best Years!! Chophouse Dinner . Brought by Bruce Wallace! Bravo! — 11 years ago
Amazing how unique these three wines are. There are obviously, in the grand scheme of things, more similarities than differences between them, but the differences are tangible. For 2015, the VH has dark explosive nose, somewhat gritty tannins, and ripe dark berry core. — 8 years ago
Nose of tobacco, spice box and barrel toast. On the palette, the tannins are a touch gnarly, but provide texture and structure. Plenty of dark berry fruits blend with a hint of cloves and cinnamon. Not as sweet as I expected. This needs air-time, but is showing well. — 9 years ago

One of my favorite Chardonnays. Smooth with a little bit of an oaky flavor. — 9 years ago
Beautiful floral hints on the nose don't quite prepare you for the explosion of intricate tastes that hit your palate. Lots of plum, currant, mocha and spice make this a fun wine to drink. Tannins are elegant and the acidity is just right making this a very well balanced wine. I love everything I've tasted from this winery! — 10 years ago
Reminds me of Mauzac with the apple nose — 10 years ago
bright, beautiful acid, cool green fruit with citrus, floral notes with a bit of salinity. fun for the palate. totally gulpable. — 11 years ago

The acidity is like a punch in the face - in a good way! Very dry with a bit of sunny currant. — 7 years ago
