The Lodge Hill Clare Valley Dry Riesling 2017

The acidity is like a punch in the face - in a good way! Very dry with a bit of sunny currant. — 7 years ago

Pritchard Hill Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2005

Another great 2005, these are ready to go.
2002 Still my favorite though .
Best 05 is Shafer & Vineyard 29 estate in my opinion. You must try them both out of a mag preferably

You know all the Cali wine producers I am not acquainted with! I am must keep tasting. I drink a lot of French and Italian wine but the latest Cali cab to catch my love was...I believe Neal? Anyway, your picks are giving me California eduaction every day.

Rex Hill Vineyards

Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 1996

Quite amazing. Dried prunes and cloves on the nose mature and evolved. Then raspberry jam in the glass with tons of acidity and perhaps a hint of coffee this is not a fruitbomb! — 9 years ago

St. Helena Estate Mixed Blacks Field Blend Red Blend 2012

My favorite Napa field blend. Huge dark fruit nose., not for the faint of heart!! It is drinking incredibly well. Decanted 6 hours prior to drinking... was silky smooth yet with incredible intensity and depths of flavored. 😍 love it! This was the 3rd wine opened — 10 years ago

Tanbark Hill Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

Aging nicely. When I tried this one a few years ago, I did not care for it, but today this one rocks. 2007 still has lots of fruits left. Delicious. — 10 years ago

Trinity Hill

Gimblett Gravels Syrah 2012

Always good to have a taste of home, and very little does that better than Gimblett Gravels Syrah. Great dark fruit, showing excellent leathery tones. — 8 years ago

Lucia Vineyards (Pisoni)

Susan's Hill Syrah

Excellent Syrah. Fruit, tobacco nose. Excellent example of the varietal — 8 years ago

Ravenswood Winery

Old Hill Single Vineyard Sonoma Valley Zinfandel 1994

A great '94 Old Hill still cruising along. Beautiful aged Zinfandel nose of red cherries and mint. Still firmly tannic. — 9 years ago

Chalk Hill

Estate Red Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2011

Wonderful blend of primarily Malbec,Cab Sav, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Carmenere. So this 2011 has great young jammy fruit but it is not a fruit bomb in that it has complexity. — 9 years ago

Vine Hill Ranch

Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

I drank this at their open house, and at the time I thought it was one of the best 2011's we tasted. This is another example of a wine that will have the "experts" pondering the 2011 vintage. This may be similar to a 2003 for selected wineries. I'll go on the record that I like it - a lot. — 10 years ago

Diamond Creek Vineyards

Volcanic Hill Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Amazing how unique these three wines are. There are obviously, in the grand scheme of things, more similarities than differences between them, but the differences are tangible. For 2015, the VH has dark explosive nose, somewhat gritty tannins, and ripe dark berry core. — 8 years ago

Georgia's Paddock Shiraz 2000

Nose of tobacco, spice box and barrel toast. On the palette, the tannins are a touch gnarly, but provide texture and structure. Plenty of dark berry fruits blend with a hint of cloves and cinnamon. Not as sweet as I expected. This needs air-time, but is showing well. — 9 years ago

William Hill Estate Winery

North Coast Chardonnay 2012

One of my favorite Chardonnays. Smooth with a little bit of an oaky flavor. — 9 years ago

Whetstone Wine Cellars

Pleasant Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir 2013

Beautiful floral hints on the nose don't quite prepare you for the explosion of intricate tastes that hit your palate. Lots of plum, currant, mocha and spice make this a fun wine to drink. Tannins are elegant and the acidity is just right making this a very well balanced wine. I love everything I've tasted from this winery! — 10 years ago
