Hedges Family Estate

Red Mountain Red Blend 2017

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Nose of black currants, cooked plums, licorice, oak, Indian spices, light earth, herbs, tobacco leaf and chocolates.

Full bodied with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with plums, currants, cooked cherries, oak, chocolates, light licorice, spices, tobacco leaf, light earth, herbs and black pepper.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Red Mountain in Washington State. Elegant and nicely balanced. Feels like a Left Bank Bordeaux. Spicy and entertaining. Really enjoyed the nose.

This 8 year old Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is drinking beautifully now, with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel.

Delicious by itself as a sipping wine, and will pair nicely with food too.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged for 22 months in all new oak barrels, 80% American and 20% French. A tiny production of only 1,400 bottles.

14% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Tasted blind: Neutral nose overall, hedges towards stone fruit aromas. Chalky and sweet tart feel, with citrus zest, and high acidity. Zippy finish. — 5 years ago

Descendants Liegeois Dupont Le Blanc 2023

Dark golden in color.

Light nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and complex.

Showing lemons, pears, light earth, light cedar, peaches, spices, herbs, light honeysuckle and minerals.

Long finish with lemons and light almonds.

This is a delicious Marsanne blend from Red Mountain in Washington State. Elegant and fruit forward. Buttery, rich and complex.

Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel. The high alcohol is nicely integrated. Neither bitter nor tart. Love it.

Would be nice to revisit it in 3 years, and see how it evolves.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, and better when not too cold.

A blend of 68% Marsanne and 32% Viognier. Aged in (52% new) mostly French oak barrels for 6 months. A small production of less than 4,000 bottles.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Delicious, we drank part of the bottle which was really delicious and then forgot to vacuum it 😞. Looking forward to buying it again. — 5 years ago

C.M.S Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Pretty earthy. Tobacco, leather, mushrooms, graphite, bell pepper. Medium-full body with fine tannins. Long oaky finish. I would say this drinks above its price point. — 2 months ago

Red Mountain DLD Cuvée Marcel Dupont Les Gosses Vineyard Syrah 2014

Ming L
9.4

This is my last bottle of this remarkable single vineyard Syrah, the first bottle consumed about 6 years ago.

The nose opens seamlessly with ripe plum, blueberry compote, and cassis before evolving into savory waves of smoked meat, dark cocoa, dried violet, and aged soy. The palate is full and silky, with a refined sweetness and integrated spice driving a long, savory finish. Still powerful but now balanced and restrained. In peak form.
