Medium gold color. Heavy in the glass. Leesy nose with notes of lemon, apricot, tan spice and sea shells. With air this really blossomed. Became exotic and later was atypical for a Chablis. Yet it always had great fruit and powerful acidity. (Bday dinner 2/13) — 6 years ago
Nice golden hue, looks heavy and rich in the glass. Honeyed fragrant nose. Notes of sweet apricot, mango, lemon, white clay, tan spice, and stones. Nice intensity in the mouth, with gobs of fruit matched against acidity that built over the afternoon. Telltale aged Raveneau honey, exotic today but not over the top. I brought this and it was the best of the couple or so bottles of it that I've had. Was at its best with ~5 hours of air, and leftover was still singing the next morning. — 7 years ago
I dig these wines. I feel like they capture the power and ripeness one expects from a valley floor site but without feeling heavy or over extracted. There’s a sense of place, a finesse that runs through it. Fresh, perfectly ripe black fruit, almost hinting at red, shines. Spice driven, in the savory sense. Somewhat exotic. There’s a very pleasant “green” note that operates at just enough threshold to keep you guessing without being overt or obvious, it comes across as, again, savory. For the vintage the tannins seem rather subdued, persistent but very fine, textural. Been fortunate to try a couple wines from this estate with age and they are always beautiful. — 8 years ago
a child. smoth and heavy. will be a big one... — 8 years ago
Tasted side by side with the 2013 Lineage. Tough battle but bottle age has definitely helped this bottling. Mix of deep garnet and ruby red. Straight from opening there were lots of savory elements mixed in with red and black berries. Some floral notes too like roses. As it opened up over the two hour period there was petroleum, dark cocoa and cinnamon. Over the evening, additional notes of dark ripe fruits and even more spices, even slightly savory ones. So balanced for how young this is. Started out with heavy tannins (8/10) but mellowed and rounded out to a solid moderate tannins (6.5/10) over the two and a half hour decant. Rounded medium plus body that will develop further with time. Started off with some darker cherries and light greenery with a bit of leather. Even a bit of spices. Great acidity giving this strong backbone and a semi-dry long finish. This will be singing given another five years and drink will over the next twelve. Tons of potential and very surprised by this caliber of wine coming out of Livermore Valley. Great job Steven! — 9 years ago
Lots of big cherry and red fruit on nose. A little “hot” for 13.5% alcohol wine and thought was heavy oak and it felt closed off at first but opened up nicely after 1 hour. Look forward to drinking it again tomorrow to see how it develops. Well made. — 5 years ago
2000 out of magnum. Shed its fruit and was heavy on the yeasty, breads flavors. — 7 years ago
Stored a few bottles, but had to pop one of the current release. Deep ruby in color. Dark fruits and spice on the nose. Not as tannin heavy as I expected. BlackBerry, clove, baking spices on the palate. Super black jam on the finish. Recently drank the 12 vintage, needs a couple years to mature for complexity. — 8 years ago
Full bodied but not heavy. — 8 years ago
Heavy vanilla smell and taste. Better after letting it breathe — 8 years ago
Deep ruby red. A little savory on the nose with tons of red and black cherries as well as a little baking spices. Heavy mountain tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Great layers on the palate with bramble berries, black cherries, and a bit woody. Balanced acidity and intense structure. Nice texture with a bit of gravel in the long finish. Drink till 2042. — 9 years ago

Last week was a combo of 4th Friday and Open That Bottle Night on back to back nights. Needless to say, the lineup between both days was full of heavy hitters, so I’m only posting standout bottles.
One of my bottles. One of my favorite wineries and easily one of the top 5 winery visits I’ve ever done. To me, this is “classic” Continuum in that is has just a impeccable balance of both fruit and herbal/savory notes both aromatically and on the palate. I let this slow ox for a couple hours, checking in ever so often, and found this hit stride after about two hours of air. Lovely bouquet of potpourri, lavender, graphite, sage, currant, ripe blackberries, black cherries and mocha. On the palate, its profile is soft yet all encompassing. Mulberries, cassis, tobacco leaves, herbs de Provence, licorice, dark cocoa, baking spices and a touch savory toward the finish. Enjoyable now and not getting better. My thanks to @Bill Bender for this. — 6 years ago
From the Willi’s Wine Bar list. Light straw gold. Heavy, more weight and depth when compared with the Meursault Exudes young Chablis with sea breeze and salinity, honeysuckle, wet clay and white flowers in the nose. Rich and heavy in the mouth. Shows power and complexity with air. Needs time. But this is pretty good juice. — 7 years ago
First red on night four at Chops Grille aboard the Harmony of the Seas. Deep purplish red. Rich nose with sweet cinnamon, vanilla, blackberries, cassis, dark gravel and dark cocoa. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Lush palate with blue and black fruits as well as baking spices, purple flowers and a bit of minerals. Long and lingering finish with a touch of heat. Could use a short decant next time. Drink till 2033. — 8 years ago
The wine is so balanced and elegant. Wonderful tangy blackberry and black fruit - very focused without being over extracted and heavy. Just a delight!🍷 — 8 years ago
Very smooth Zinfandel, high alcohol but no burn and very smooth tannins. Colour is purple and rich and smells of jam, toffee and spice. Great taste and heavy fruit combined with vanilla, winter spices and menthol. Really nice wine, well worth trying. — 8 years ago
Real good. Not to heavy but lots of flavor. — 9 years ago
