Crisp, refreshing, doesn't hang around. Great summer wine — 7 years ago
Great hang around the house wine — 8 years ago
Natural, biodynamic, longer hang time, botrytis so honey, but dry, unfined, unfiltered. Like this! Not like any other Sancerre! — 7 years ago
This is the '05 so-called "Blue Label" which isn't very blue, but I digress. I was a little rough on the last Lillian I opened, which I believe was the '06 regular bottling. It was a might underwhelming. This bottle has more highs than lows. Inky black color. Swirl the wine and you can't count the legs in the glass. Absolute knockout nose of licorice, spice and Dr Pepper. Best part of the experience for me. SO inviting. The downside is that the fruit is a little muted. Still some black fruit essence, however. And a bit hot on the finish. I guess I would still say it's best days are in the rear view mirror, but I'll hang on to a few to revisit somewhere down the road. Apologies to @Bill Bender for the absence of breasts in the photo. — 9 years ago
In my opinion, this is a pop and pour Cabernet Franc at this moment. I do not believe any additional years in bottle are going to make this one any better. This wine is ready to kick butt. Full bodied, glass coating wine. Nose of black fruit, tar, hint of iodine and some floral notes although the floral has gone from primary to secondary over the years of aging. Palate is rather consistent with the nose, but added some dark cocoa powder towards the finish. Good acidity throughout, but the edges on this wine have definitely softened. Finishes a little bit gritty, which I think is mostly tannin integration. I think this one will hang around for at least another five years. But, this one is drinking most certainly at peak. — 6 years ago
Wow. Pours almost black. Was expecting a fruit bomb, but it's fully attenuated, and predominately earthy. Long, subtle hang that offers surprises as it oxidizes. Pairing with my usual cured meats, cheeses, pickled things. Definitely a winner. — 7 years ago
The Gombaude-Guillot, one of the few Bordeaux wines the Kermit Lynch works with, is a Pomerol that has the textbook satin-like tannin, a byproduct of the Merlot grape planted in these hallowed clay soils up on the Pomerol Plateau. Still plenty young, the fruit was plush but not too generous, showing juicy red fruits that buttressed and a subtle core of earth and minerality. Drink now or hang on for another 10 years easy. — 9 years ago
Smokey, dusky, smouldering red fruit
Light, lithe, possesses volcanicity - that sense of a wine that is airy like a pumice stone; Fine texture, it opens up to reveal a loose and fine structure. — 9 years ago
Red and dark berries, eucalyptus notes, suede. Fine busy present tannins. Could probably hang out another year or two. — 9 years ago

We decanted and let her warm up from the cellar. Phenomenal as she warmed up and still felt tight and spicy and continued to develop. Reached a massive peak of fullness and complexity faster than expected about 90 minutes after decanting and started to flatten and loose something from there. Final glass to end the evening a full 3 hours later and there was still something there but next time, I would not decant. Rated based on the best drinking period. — 5 years ago
