Nervo Ranch Heritage Alexander Valley Red Blend

Deep, dark, and damn tasty. Complex aromas and flavors. Impressive field blend offering brambly fruit, smoked meats, and an inky, mineral driven finish. Can drink now -- we just did-- but I'd recommend holding for another couple of years. Concentrated, well structured, balanced, sneaky acid, and all sorts of delicious.

Needs more time. Structure is there. Profile is very un Zin like.

This is Bedrock's Geyserville. They don't call it Geezerville for nothing. This was way way too young.

Got a few of this vintage, decided to see how it was drinking. Little flabby and not fully integrated. Lean on the nose yet shows minerals and vague black fruits. Soft on the palate-with cherry, spice and pepper showing. Recommend opening late 2017.

The label says "claret style", but we're thinking it drinks more like an Italian style blend. Lots of ancient vine Zin flavors and 14.5% alcohol. We enjoyed it with Middle Eastern food.

This is all about the fruit - and lots of it - black cherries, strawberries, and red currants. Not overwhelmingly so, however.
