Massive, sexy fruit-forward Pinot Noir from Zio Tony vineyard in the heart of Laguna Ridge. Good vintages of this cuvée are on par with the Cohn in my opinion, and this might be my favorite one yet. On night 3 this really opened up and showed some brooding dark berries, cola and sandalwood, laced with earth and spice. Already quite layered and complex, but needs a year or two in Bottle to show more defined flavors. Big oak tannins are still prevalent. Outstanding effort from an unusually low yielding harvest, this wine has some serious future ahead of it. — 8 years ago

2010. Great wine beginning its joyous window. Sweet rich Italian red nose that gets to a minty place occasionally, some leather, tannins are present but feel like "Ceylan tea-level" bite--quite manageable. A wine that gets your heart moving a bit when you're in the mood for an Italian red on a blustery day. Has a long life ahead but is already giving a great deal of pleasure. — 10 years ago
First vintage bottled under the new Eagle Peak AVA. Already drinking fantastic out of the bottle with a perfectly perfumed nose and a texture that tells you stems were involved during fermentation. About 15% carbonic maceration on this vintage. — 10 years ago
Just a really great milk stout. Hard to beat it, especially with the on point addition of nitro. — 10 years ago
Just what I needed on a hot, humid day. None of the nuttiness of the Patrician Verona -- just crisp citrus and refreshing acidity. — 12 years ago
Very good- smooth on the palate and easy down the throat. Worth having it on hand! — 13 years ago
The 2016 is out - and it doesn’t disappoint!!!Medium-bodied but mouth filling showing freshly picked cherries, leather and bacon fat. A memorable finish. One of my favorite wines, one of the most reliable. Huge QPR and one you should always have on hand. A little pricey for an everyday house wine, but it’s always worth it. On the downside it went up $1 and is now $21...... — 8 years ago
The Levitation is 100% Syrah from the Columbia Valley. It spent time on lees, 15 months in French oak and only racked before bottling. On the nose, plummy dark currants, loamy soils, pepper, grilled meats, light; cinnamon, clove & vanilla. Sweet tarry notes, herbs and fresh violets & dry florals. On the palate; the tannin are M+ but round, fresh; black cherry, black plum, black raspberries, blackberries. Herbs, pepper, spice, understated grilled meats, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, underbrush, crushed rocks, loamy soils, fresh, dark florals, round acidity and a big, rich, polished, elegant, floral finish. This wine is made in conjunction with consultant Michel Rolland. The blend is 81% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1-2% of both Petit Verdot and Malbec. It's meant to be made in a Pomerol style. On the nose; ripe, lush, sweet black currants, sweet tarry notes, black licorice, soft pepper, violets, understated mint and fresh, dark. fresh floral bouquet. The mouthfeel is stunning as are the fruits. Fresh, ripe, nearly candied, blackberries, dark cherries, notes of blueberries, black raspberries/cola, gentle spices, elegant minerals, loamy soils, liquid violets and a gorgeous, long finishing. Comparing other most quality wine prices, this a steal at $60. Photos of one of their vineyards, Gilles in the lab and a hand blown glass artwork in their tasting room. — 9 years ago

Super yummy Vouvray! Focused and clean yet with an underlying sense of concentrated, fruity, aromatic richness as well. I've had a couple Vouvrays before this and they were either too sweet and unbalanced or unfortunately, corked. So even though I know I dig Loire Chenin, I hadn't ever paid much attention to Vouvrays before due to those negative (and partially unfair; can't really control if a wine is gonna be corked or not before you even get a hold of it) associations I had. But I get Vouvray now, for sure. Macerated peaches and pineapple, yellow apple, chamomile, wet stone and a tiny bit of wet wool, a bit of honeysuckle and white florals, and a tiny bit of subtle cardamom spice. A small bit of RS, barely off-dry, but it's kept totally in balance and still finishes "dry", lean, focused, and crisp due to the nice high, mouthwatering acidity. Pleasant medium body. Drank with a burger topped with Gorgonzola and fresh jalapeños since it was all I had on hand to drink with it, and it was definitely an unusual/atypical pairing but the RS and acid definitely worked well with richness of the cheese and the spice of the jalapeño and cheese. Wasn't a perfect pairing but much better than expected. Will definitely buy again. I don't think I've had a Kermit Lynch-imported wine that I didn't like. — 10 years ago
Purchased at auction from K&L. Single owner kept it in very fine fettle. Fill level high for a '66 and minimal sediment in the bottle. Tawny caramel color with golden rim. Superlative complexity on the nose: rich mushrooms, forest floor, cedar, moss and wet leaves, dangui Chinese herbs, butterscotch taffy, molasses. Gentle and round on the tongue: prunes, mocha, shiitake, licorice, clove, sandalwood, black cherry, dried figs, and iron-alkaline briny blood. Very savory with subdued fruit, but tannins still fully structured. Loooooong finish, all the way to the heart. Euphoric ending to a lovely Christmas. Cheers to my mother-in-law. — 11 years ago
beautiful hand-blown bottle, handmade paper label, beeswax capsule. The good news is that the wine is every bit as nice as the bottle. A little reductive on the nose to start, but came around nicely. Lighter bodied, with spice and a bit of earth. — 12 years ago
Red fruit on the nose w/ red licorice, fresh strawberry on entry; enjoyable mid-palate with a ever so slight tannic mid- length finish. Fruit forward w/ low acid — 12 years ago
Great taste of summer, but great wine any meal. Try with a winning hand in poker or take to share on the top of a hill with a great view. Balanced , smooth — 14 years ago

My last 2011 bottle. The estate of Sette Ponti lies in the heart of the Chianti zone, 15 miles northwest of the city of Arezzo, past the village of San Giustino Valdarno. Crognolo, aged in French Allier barriques, deep red with red fruit aromas and sweet perfumed spice. On the palate raspberry and cherry flavors, gentle spice and soft tannins with great mouthfeel. Good balance, lingering finish ending with some oak and mineral tones. Aged well. — 8 years ago
Yup...that's Neil Patrick Harris on their Label. Sleight of Hand Cellars got involved in a charity that NPH was apart. They got to talking and found he not only had a love of Magic, but wine as well. The relationship evolved well enough, they asked him if he would be on one of their labels and Neil agreed. The "Sleight of Hand Cellars" label has been seen a few times on "How I Met Your Mother." NPH is also is a club member. The Conjurer is blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Cabernet Franc, 8% Merlot and a splash of Petit Verdot from the Columbia Valley. Nice, fresh nose of; ripe dark currants, blackberries, black plum, dark cherries, black raspberries, black licorice, dark chocolate, soft spice, wood shavings and fresh dark florals. The palate is M+ body & soft M+ tannins with a thick, round mouthfeel. Dark spice, eucalyptus, mint, herb notes, cinnamon, vanilla, clove, chocolate, caramel apple, black licorice, crushed rocks, soft leather, nice, round, acidity and a very well polish finish. This is very easy to drink young and will cellar 10 years. — 9 years ago

Trey, you've outdone yourself with the 2013! Can't wait till this integrates over the next decade but it's drinking amazingly well now too. Gonna be hard to wait on this one. — 10 years ago

Holy ****! This is good. Move over Oregon! Tart raspberry, strawberry, and forest floor to the max balanced by tremendous acidity and smooth tannins. Clusters are hand selected from 65 year old vines and aged 14 months in neutral oak. The structure and character remind me of some higher end Oregon Pinots but with more concentration. Decant for 2 hours to let it open up - then enjoy. 2017 vintage on Jan 17, 2019 — 7 years ago
