Outstanding old vine Chablis that is "village" level but drinks like a premier cru. Decant for one hour. A SommSelect choice. $27. Wow. — 9 years ago

Well balanced Chablis (Chardonnay), mild acid and citrus, at That Place in Ogunquit, and Chez Rosa in Kennebunkport, Maine — 7 years ago
Patrick Arnould passed over 2009 & 2010, but decided to make this 2011- a strange decision on paper. This all old-vine Pinot blanc de noir has it where it counts- in the bottle. Only 60 bottles for the USA, now 59. This seems lighter than past vintages, but still has that Nutella like hazelnut character that screams Verzenay. I will wait a year or two to have my next bottle for sure... But this long wine sure did go down easy last night! — 9 years ago

Full, herbal, ripe and oaky on the nose, obviously still young but more than ready to play. Odors of licorice and Fernet or Chartreuse come through. Thank goodness this has been open since yesterday, it almost certainly needed it. On the palate, bright cassis, wild strawberry and herbal liquor comes through with jasmine and finely structured tannins. Yumyumyum. — 10 years ago

Hey Jono & Kent, savouring a delicious Meursault here at Wauwinet. Pity you are not here to share with us! — 12 years ago
Notes from 3 hrs open. Lovely oxidative style, but good freshness to complement. On the nose: honey, marzipan, lemon oil, a shimmer of copper. On the palate, lovely mousse, fantastic acidity, very focused on the palate, with floral honey and lemon. Very clean finish. — 6 years ago

Out with Adrianne Haslet Davis and Katie Jenkins. We wanted a lighter red for the warm weather and this was perfect. Light berries. A tinge of tobacco. Etc etc. — 11 years ago
Bright fruit but it's feet are firmly planted in the old world. Nice grip, and a little on the young side. — 11 years ago
