Super bright, clear wine, lighter bodied. Wonderful melon, lemongrass, passion fruit and white pepper nose. Green melon, passion fruit, peach, ginger and some herb notes I'm struggling to identify beyond the lemon grass, maybe tomato leaf? Passion fruit comes through nicely on the finish. A few months since our last bottle, notes are still consistent:
95% Sauvignon Blanc & 5% Semillon; Entre-Deux-Mers AOC
Nose of freshly washed sweet, green grapes, lemon grass and green melon.
Palate is crisp, citrus biased, lightly tart not sweet, lime squeezed on granite, medium finish.

What a wine.. 😁 there's just nothing like unfiltered, unfined, and unhinged Sauvignon Blanc. It's like my love for German Hefeweizen - hazy, but all of the flavor that Bevan would just lose if he wanted a star bright wine.. looks aren't everything. All the main indicators of SB, and much more - lemon grass, grapefruit reduction, unpasteurized clover honey, white peppercorn, vanilla, Meyer lemon, and white pear. Juicy acidity, intense and inviting florals, and fun to look at in the glass. 2016 is a great year for Bevan SB. — 9 years ago
