Mild buttery, good on own — 9 months ago
Bright and deep ruby purple with quickly dissipating magenta mousse. Black cherry and tarry patent leather on the inviting nose and medium full palate. Medium acidity and medium tannins. Finish is lengthy and continues the palate and extends the tannins. Wonderful dry red sparkler suitable for brunch, dinner, or just sipping (though the tannins do call for food of some type). Drink it when you buy it. — 3 years ago
Color is a little darker than I expected!
Smells like red apple and seaweed…and cured turkey.
Tastes very apple-y, but more of a sweet apple than a tart apple. Some cherry. A little toast and a slight champagne-y quality. Enjoyable. Good deal for the pricier liquor stores in the area I am visiting. 89. — 15 days ago
Blend of 70% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and rest Meunier, pale lemon color, light creamy mousse, tiny bubbles, with aromas of stone and citrus fruits, underlying toasty notes, dosage is 9g per liter. On the palate flavors of apple and peach with citrus zest, honeysuckle and chalky nuttiness. Lively acidity with good balance, long finish ending with fruit, biscuit and chalky notes. — 9 months ago
A fair amount of depth. Medium-low sweetness. Herbs on the front, rosemary. Develops into peaches and watermelon. A touch of honey as it finishes.
Overall, a definite rebuy! — 2 years ago
Delicious by itself and in mimosa. Not too buttery. — 4 months ago
Popped and poured; no formal notes. While the Goutorbe was ready for the business, this 2016 from Gimonnet was more of a discussion about its potential. This Special Club bottling showcases Oger and naturally, is a 100% Chardonnay BdB. I like where it’s headed, it’s just so youthful and tightly coiled. Loads of minerals and acid. Needs time. Drink after 2026 and through 2046. — 2 years ago

Louis Bouillot – Crémant de Bourgogne Brut Millésimé 2018
AOC Crémant de Bourgogne – Nuits-Saint-Georges, Burgundy, France 🇫🇷
Overview
From limestone- and chalk-rich soils in Burgundy’s Nuits-Saint-Georges, crafted in the méthode champenoise. 60% Chardonnay forms the base of this vintage blend and 40% Pinot Noir, offering a sparkling wine that mirrors Champagne’s finesse while carrying a Burgundian soul.
Aromas & Flavors
Fresh orchard fruit (apple, pear), lemon zest, brioche, and subtle minerality. Hints of almond and chalk elevate its elegance.
Mouthfeel
Crisp yet rounded, with fine persistent bubbles. A structured, creamy texture balanced by bright acidity.
Food Pairings
Excellent with oysters, scallops, or sushi. Also pairs beautifully with creamy cheeses like Brie or Comté.
Verdict
A superb Crémant, layered, refined, and capable of standing tall beside many Champagnes. A hidden gem for those seeking value without compromise in elegance.
Did You Know?
Crémant de Bourgogne is produced under strict regulations similar to Champagne, including secondary fermentation in bottle and extended lees aging, yet often costs a fraction of the price.
🍷 Personal Pick Highlight
Among the most structured and Champagne-like Crémants I’ve tried. Simply amazing. Cheers! — 3 days ago
