Yowee this is a vigorous wine! Color is pretty saturated and youthful. Nose she’s intensely zingy dark berry (elderberry and black raspberry), animal notes and decomposing granite like a northern Rhone Syrah. Wild. in the mouth it’s joltingly electric with acidity, but that is balanced by concentrated ripe dark berry fruit. There’s also deep minerality and a note of new baseball glove leather. The tannins are present but we’ll managed. Finish is long and lip-smacking. Really good and really unique. — 22 days ago
Fruit forward. With good clean tannins — 3 months ago
Interesting but disconcerting that we are starting to see £50 wines from Puglia come onto the market. Is it worth it? I'll say it's certainly not a deal and at that price point there are a lot of sparkling rosés that would beat out this one.
I actually prefer the non-sparkling rosé of Negroamaro that I found in the region at 1/2 of the cost for a great one. — 4 months ago
Imperial Treasure Teochew Ion with Andrew Dutton. Barnyard nose. Smooth and silky tannins. Guessed young Barolo or Barbaresco.
Powerfully heady nose of sottobosco and dead leaves. On the palate it's as fresh as fresh veg – massive freshness after an initial impression of prunes. Extremely subtle and only medium weight. JR18, issued June 2018 — a month ago
