Not sure is this is identified correctly, but age is certainly a friend of this wine. On the nose, we detect kirsch and candied cherries.
The palette, while rich, is not as flamboyant as it was in its youth. Black stone fruits meld with anise and a hint of cloves. Finishes dense and a touch sweet. Wifey rated this as 93 pts. Who am I to argue.

Love this fruity and smooth style. But the finish was a bit bitter. — 10 years ago
Always love Experiment from Ovid. The 2005 was more cab franc dominant and it's showing well with another decade or so left in the tank. — 11 years ago

An old friend of mine having been the first bottle of 1st growth claret that I sampled , sometime during 1999. Decent colour lightening at the edges but no more than that. Classic cedar and black currant , touch of truffle perhaps. Not hugely complex though automatically interesting at least. The fruit is quite cool and restrained though there is balance to the tannins and acidity. Decent length too. Overall and enjoyable wine though lacking the complexity and depth of a better vintage — 9 years ago
With my dear friend Ken Wegner. We graduated from Denison University thirty years ago today!!! Amazing. — 10 years ago
2011- gift from a friend. Excellent structure, tannins are very mellow but alcohol is still very hot. Fruit forward, possibly oxidized fruit (port-like fruit). — 11 years ago

Was my second of two bottles. Opened the first a year ago and was unimpressed. Drank the second last night and time was its friend. Awesome. — 9 years ago
This beautiful 2005 cab was an anniversary gift from a great friend of mine @Jeff Savigny The vintage is the year we got married. The nose is so complex and yet so subdued, it practically blew my mind. A nose full of roses, tobacco, dark fruit and licorice with a hint of molasses and vanilla. On the palate very dry, with a faint aged acidity, yet very rich and delicious. You can spend just as much time smelling this as drinking it. This was a near perfect wine and a great anniversary present! — 11 years ago
