Powerful aroma including cassis blackberry and cherry, oak vanilla. Chalk mineral. 30 min, much better, but not necessary for deep decanting. Almost 2019 Lucente 21 @6500, Bic - Oren I G, 250922-250924 — 8 months ago

Aromas of dark plums, wet leaves, and pencil lead; with added smokey and deep flavors of tobacco, dark chocolate, and maybe a hint of potpourri! The tannins are beefy yet elegant and evolved, and with the bright acidity and high alcohol (14.5%) means this is a “big” Super Tuscan. — 8 years ago
Good Chianti but expensive given its quality. Dark and heavy Chianti with an astringent bite to finish. — 5 months ago
Sadly This is no longer Trebbiano and Malvasia. Now it's 90% Chard and 10 % Pinot Grigio.. The Frescobaldi house pulled out all of their Malvasia and Trebbiano due to climate change (and Pomino is among the highest altitude growing regions of Tuscany) - and replaced those vines with these more hardy and more boring varieties.
Interesting that they kept the same exact name and label, but I guess it's all still accurate?
This also very sadly means no more Vin Santo.

This Italian white has a most interesting presence in the glass. The pale yellow liquid has a nose which is quite herbaceous, showing notes of sage, anise and oregano. The palate brings forth some citrus fruit - Meyer lemon - and a boatload of minerals and salinity. There is quite a racy acidity, too. Like a good Vermentino should, the wine leaves a sense of the seashore on the finish. — 4 years ago
Enjoyable, solid value Brunello Di Montalcino at €22 across Milan train station. Notes of cherry plum and blackberry fruits combine with a complex mixture of smokey vanilla undergrowth which imparts earthy leather undertones. Medium body. Decent 2hr min, as there are strong tannins (Also probably drinking this a few years young) for a 2014 in 2020. — 6 years ago

This ages so well. A balance of mature and fresh: cigars, tomato leaf, eggplant (first time I think I ever said that!), cassis.
Finely structured tannins, the acids have mellowed a little but still very present.
Who knows how long this one could go but it's a great time to drink it now! — 6 months ago

Crème brûlée, caramel delight, candied apricots/raisins, and toffee. So delicious. Coravin sample; ready to age another 10 years. — 5 years ago
Dark ruby red to the edge. Dry full bodied with nice balance of fruit and tannins. — 6 years ago
Very well done white wine. It comes from an area where the climate helps building freshness and aromas. Tried cold but very nice also at room temperature. Not only citrus fruit, but also white peach on the nose/palate. — 7 years ago
Had this at Eataly in Chicago. Last bottle they had. Outstanding — 8 years ago
