On s’ouvre un autre délicieux Chassagne Villages 2017 de Bernard Moreau. Toujours aussi savoureux. Un petit côté citronné et salin au nez, mais finement, avec une touche beurrée. La bouche est généreuse, charmante, une certaine rondeur avec une touche de richesse, mais aussi avec suffisamment de tension appuyée et qui donne du corps au vin tout en ayant une belle fraîcheur et une longueur fort appréciable, toute une réussite pour un Villages. 91-92

Once again another great bottle if this decently priced Chassagne Villages. Some lemon, touch of butter nd definitely a salinity on the nose and palate. A generous and chrming wine with some roundness and richness yet with enough acidity to make it a great balance, good length too, delicious simply and now my 4th bottle in the last year and they were all spot on. — 4 years ago

Vintage 2015 / Imagine you find a vineyard with almost 50 years old Chenin Blanc and you are able to make wine from it. Frederic Mabileau must have been thrilled. This vineyard in Saumur is 1 hectare. Minerals in smell, a lot of minerals. Also vanilla (16 months en foudre). Hints of tropical fruit, hay, enormous powerful in taste with good acidity. A beautiful nose of yellow orchard fruit, honeysuckle and a touch of sea shells and salin texture. The wine is rich, a nice roundness and slightly less crisp than the usual Droin style, but still with enough backbone and acidity to make it harmonious, balanced, classy, elegant and with a lingering delicious finish. Great bottle. Un nez magnifique sur les fruits jaunes, pêches et un petit côté chèvrefeuille et une touche de coquillage. La bouche est sur le même registre, un côté plus riche et ample que le style Droin habituel, mais non dénuée de colonne et d’acidité qui en font un ensemble harmonieux, frais, pur, équilibré et avec beaucoup de classe et une longueur impressionnante. 93 pts aisément — 5 years ago
