The 2020 Gattinara is elegant and lifted. Crushed red berry fruit, cinnamon and orange peel grace this ethereal, nuanced Gattinara. Bright saline notes and sweet red-toned fruit build into the long, persistent finish. Understated and silky, the 2020 is exquisite. All this needs is a few years to soften. The 2019 Barolo Cerretta has shut down considerably since I last tasted it, but the elements are also more put together in that the wine is a harmonious whole rather than a combination of individual components. Dark red fruit, rose petal, orange peel, spice and dried herbs are beautifully sketched. I would not dream of touching a bottle anytime soon. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2024)

Probably my favourite producer of Barolo...never had a bad bottle. This is young with bracing tanins but it is already so approachable. Cherries, leather and menthol dominate but there is so much depth. Lovely wine! — 8 months ago
