N: honeysuckle, hay, white pepper, stamen, Flint,

Such a tease, showing only momentary signs of an incredible aroma as the night progressed. Flowers, peach, quince, and toasty lemons come of mind. Even after a good 2 hour decant, the wine was still so tightly knitted. Not much fruit and full on flint as the name suggest. Searing acidity, lovely texture. Not fully convinced, but it sure does have great potential. — 8 years ago

Very Rhonelike. Sweaty feet on the nose, transitioning to barnyard and smoked meat on the palate. Medium to full bodied, but I wish it had a bit more weight. Fantastic, but not for everyone. This needs to be your thing. — 10 years ago
One of the better incarnations of Melville’s stainless steel-fermented chardonnay. Aromas of lemon peel, candied melon, and a trace of flint. Terrific acidity, with a nice evolution of flavors on the palate that serve to fill the wine out. Surprisingly lingering finish given the degree of acidity, which suggests to me that this wine is going to be very interesting for quite a few years. Great job by the team at Melville! — 7 years ago
10% stainless steel fermented. 90 % neutral oak. Bright like a chablis! — 8 years ago
As the Victorians would have said, a real stunner. In a great place right now, initial blast of elderflower upon uncorking. Further oxidation brings out the classic flinty notes and lush creaminess of premium Sancerre. Slightly faded golden brocade. Flint, citrus, blossoms on the nose. Vibrant acidity. Just gorgeous work. — 8 years ago
exceptional balance -- citrus, flint, subtle oak. couldn't ask for more from a chablis. — 9 years ago
Extremely layered but delicate nose lets you know you are in for a treat. There's no kick of gooseberry or cat pee, funk or wool. Instead, a great balance between the signature gun smoke, flint and lit match, layered with extra clean lemon, lime, and grapefruit. Palate is rich and round, full of citrus fruit and a stream of acidity. — 9 years ago
Delicious. Not too buttery. — 10 years ago
Flint & Steel adds a crisp flinty backbone to classic Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc. A lovely nose of honeysuckle, peach and grapefruit rind is followed by flavors of mango, kiwi, lemongrass & freshly squeezed grapefruit. The wine is medium bodied with a smooth and refreshing finish. — 11 years ago
Baby Coche, lots of flint and impression of smoke. On the palate, full of minerality. I can see why people are buying it up as fast as they can. — 7 years ago

A lovely greengage, lime, slate and honeysuckle nose. On the palate very clear, chalky, flint. A lovely savory palate. Incredibly there... Really beautifully balanced. Great stuff. — 9 years ago
Laser beam to my Chardonnay pleasure center. Such focused orchard fruit, flint and sappiness , with a hint of salinity. Reductive (surprise!) upon opening, much more giving with a couple hours in the decanter. Every time I question the QPR of white Burgundy, Roulot reels me back in. Thanks, @Evan Vallee. I need a winning lotto ticket or something... — 9 years ago

One of my favourite wines. Crisp white. Not too acidic. Enjoy it again and again — 7 years ago
