Bright, fruits, fine mousse, clean, pleasantly sweet, long taste — 2 years ago

Domaine Drouhin Dundee Hills Pinot Noir 2017: Medium-bodied. Bright red fruits on the nose and strawberry, raspberry, cherry & plum on the palate. Additionally, there is a light touch of forest floor, earthiness ending with a soft dry finish. Glad to be back supporting & enjoying some local outdoor dinner spots! Cheers🍷 — 5 years ago

Light in colour and body, yet full of bright red fruit, black tea and dried flowers and loads of umami. Brilliant juicy acidity and finegrained tannins. An etheric drinking delight. — 8 years ago
Almost port-like nose of dried plums or cherries, a little funky and earthy on the palate, some leather and horse blanket mixed with the dried cherry and a medium tannin and pretty bright for a red. Medium body and long finish. Deep garnet hue and was still good chilled. — 5 months ago
Pale yellow color. Aromas of pineapple, guava, grapefruit, white flowers and fresh herbs. A myriad of tropical fruit flavors with additional notes of peach, lemon curd and pepper spice. Nice saline/mineral touch on the long and crunchy finish. Mouth watering acidity, bright and fresh. A bit of heft due to some lees aging. Thanks for the taste, Chris B! Revisited in August 2025. Even better this time. Taking rating up! — 9 months ago
Dark, bright-hued ruby. An expansive, complex bouquet evokes ripe cherry and black raspberry, along with pungent floral, exotic spice and earth notes. Stains the palate with sweet red and dark berry, lavender pastille and fruitcake flavors that spread out steadily and become livelier on the back half. Conveys a suave blend of richness and energy and finishes impressively long and juicy, with harmonious tannins and resonating florality. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, August 2021)

Barrel taste of the 2016 Insignia.
The nose shows bright red floral fruits. Ripe; dark cherries, blackberries, creamed black raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and a touch of pomegranate. Vanillin, light cinnamon, dark rich soils, dark chocolate bar, soft understated volcanic minerals, violets, red and dark florals.
The wine is still extremely fresh. The body medium full. Tannins are round & slight tarry. The fruits are very ripe and bright. Ripe; dark cherries, blackberries, creamed black raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and a touch of pomegranate. Vanillin, light cinnamon, dark rich soils, dark chocolate bar, soft understated volcanic minerals, limestone, violets, red and dark florals. The acidity is fresh and waterfallish. The fruit is beautiful. The wine has a long way to go in barrel but, it shows great promise. The finish is already well polished with great structure, length and balance.

Decanted for around an hour, the recently released 2013 Grand Vin from Chateau Musar is an enormous wine at present in its youth. Gradually, it opened into a gorgeous, exotic and utterly unique product of this unlikely corner of the wine world. There’s plenty of Bordeaux-like character in the form of dark fruit and cigar box, but there are notes too of cranberry, liquorice, clove, mandarin and five spice. The mouthfeel, as a whole, has a quasi Brunello quality to it, with its bright cherry fruit and mouthwatering acidity. But woe is anyone to compare this wine to any other, for it is incomparable. One of Serge Hochar’s last vintages before his passing in 2014, and one that will doubtless have a long life. — 5 years ago
1978 vintage. Cassis, mushroom, earth on the nose. Bright red fruit up front, crunchy tart fruit on the back end. Well structured with firm tannins and med-high acid. Dang yo — 6 years ago
Nose: Ripe summer fruits; blueberries, raspberries and cranberries; burnt orange peel.
Mouth: Intense and bold with bright acidity and a soothing mouthfeel. Focused and daring, the longer it rests on the palate, the more it intensifies. — 7 years ago
Great vintage. Beautiful color, bright, acidic high toned fruit. — 8 years ago

Very fresh and bright. Merlin and hints of lime. Slate and salinity. Great presence on the mid palate and a long way to go still. Very good — 3 months ago
