Found this tucked away at one of my local shops. First time sampling the lowest end offering from Montevertine. IGT is misleading given Manetti familyโs story. Anyways, wine is a banger! Cherry and currant with tea and some herbs. Lithe and refined. Perfect with Loafers pizza (or anything really). I love Sangiovese. โ 4 years ago

A 100% sangiovese grape wine this balanced is rare. A hidden gem in he heart of Tuscany this wine had a hint of tart flavor that mixed well with the beef tartare. I plan to drink the whole bottle before the first meal arrives. โ 7 years ago

๐ On the nose it has a medium(+) intensity of youthful, bright, and yet savory aromas that include ripe raspberry, plum, black cherry, rhubarb, violet, clove, nutmeg, peppercorn, licorice, leather, tobacco, wet earth, and game.
๐ On the palate this wine is dry. It has medium acidity, a medium(+) body, medium alcohol, medium tannins, and medium intensity of flavors consistent with the nose. The finish lingers. ๐๐๐
