Needed 90 minutes to open up, at which point there was a distinct red-fruit profile, led by juicy cherries and raspberries. The tone shifted to darker fruits with additional air, and a touch of the minerality I often find in these wines became more clear. Medium + bodied, with nice lift in the finish. One of my favorite wines, one of the most reliable. Huge QPR and one you should always have on hand. A little pricey for an everyday house wine, but it’s always worth it. The 82 white horsie!! 🥳 Very mellow notes of cigar spice, frankincense, cinnamon stick, bubblegum, cut grass on the nose. Deep-brick, thick, viscous red with black pepper teriyaki jerky, juicy strawberry, ripe cherries and plums on the palate with hints of almond extract, blood orange, and bacon fat on a long lingering finish.
