Just will say that it is near perfect with a peppery steak. — 5 years ago
Needed 90 minutes to open up, at which point there was a distinct red-fruit profile, led by juicy cherries and raspberries. The tone shifted to darker fruits with additional air, and a touch of the minerality I often find in these wines became more clear. Medium + bodied, with nice lift in the finish. Should drink well for at least several years to come. — 6 years ago
The 2016 is out - and it doesn’t disappoint!!!Medium-bodied but mouth filling showing freshly picked cherries, leather and bacon fat. A memorable finish. One of my favorite wines, one of the most reliable. Huge QPR and one you should always have on hand. A little pricey for an everyday house wine, but it’s always worth it. On the downside it went up $1 and is now $21...... — 7 years ago
Very smooth. Not very rich, I don't get a very "buttery" sensation like other chardies. But would be great in the summertime. — 7 years ago
The 82 white horsie!! 🥳 Very mellow notes of cigar spice, frankincense, cinnamon stick, bubblegum, cut grass on the nose. Deep-brick, thick, viscous red with black pepper teriyaki jerky, juicy strawberry, ripe cherries and plums on the palate with hints of almond extract, blood orange, and bacon fat on a long lingering finish. Amazin little adventure in a glass. — 4 years ago
This is a really good flavorful solid gin. Perfect on one large rock with a lime. — 6 years ago
Very smooth, easy to drink, fruity notes, delish! — 6 years ago
Extremely fruity with a strong note of melon. This wine is delectably sweet and tangy! — 5 years ago
Sophisticated nose of bacon fat, pipe smoke, ground espresso, hazelnut, blueberry, and bramble berry pie. Leather, tar, and tobacco too. Layered and perfectly ripe.Palate hits with pronounced blue and black fruits accented by pepper and clove. Vanilla bean and organic earth flavors too. Tannins are moderate and playfully bounce off a food minded acidity. This is drinking wonderfully now, so much that it’s hard to justify aging. Great finish depth and length. Drink or hold. This far over delivered on complexity for the price point! — 5 years ago
Drinking beautifully with a Northern appellation feel to it, more Brune and schistous to me. Would love to know all the lieu dits that contribute and their proportion in the final blend. Its darken fruit profile, meaty/smokey and forest notes make the argument that it’s of northern origin. Its opening up for now there’s a rich stream of dark black fruits reminiscent of Black raspberry liquor, soaked plums, almost prune, and overripe black berry/cherry. There’s still freshness to the fruit however, nothing ox’d or decaying. Singed cedar, leather, ash, roasted meat and animal come next, followed by the garrigue and bacon fat. Threads of eastern spices and of course pepper. It elusive now, the aromas coming and going. Palate has some lovely richness and bones to accompany it well, never pushy, always with restraint and nerve. Reminds me of Barolo. Great “basic” cuvée for Rostaing this vintage. Day 2 this really got going, much more harmony and focus on the nose. Loads of bitter root and pastille notes developing among its dark content. Very delicious — 5 years ago
Nice amber beer. Nice and malty. Reminded me of Yuengling. — 6 years ago
Beyond. Just in an amazing place right now. Bacon fat, black olive, sage, oregano, fresh tobacco and black fruit. Balanced and linear, not really palate coating. Very clean and energetic. Lots of length. — 6 years ago
