Fabulous, still lots of fruit and deep body.. — 8 years ago
Fabulous wine!! Totally through me off in a blind tasting. Lots of bright fruit coming through with. Great balance of oak and tannins. A wonderful wine to taste with @Stephen Dodd, @John Brenton Dodd and @Daniel Kozaczuk — 8 years ago
a fabulous bottle—all that it should be—steely tightly wound grand cru white wine from Corton Charlemagne. Huge upside yet, so young, wine will last decades. It’s got it all—fruit and structure, great acidity. Still a bit lean and needs to fill out, but a great bottle. — 4 years ago
Cheers to my 6,000th review on Vivino. A Big milestone deserves a big wine. This was on my wishlist for a while now. Go big or go home!
Deep inky in color with a short brick rim. Unbelievable. Not showing age at all.
Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, black currants, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, leather, earth, Mediterranean spices, beef jerky, peppercorn, cedar, leather, vanilla and licorice.
Full bodied, bold, smooth and elegant, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, sweet plums, vanilla, cedar, light vegetables, spices, smoke, tobacco, chocolates, coffee, cola, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Long finish with firm tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon based, Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley. Showing great complexity and a great mouthfeel. Big with bold tannins. Delicious and yummy.
This 19 year old is drinking very nicely now, and really shows like a young wine. Has at least 15 years in it.
After 3 hours of airtime, forest floor notes come in on the nose. Tasting like an aged left bank Bordeaux.

2008. Fabulous! A bit of spice to go with the deep fruit hints. Buy this if you find it. — 6 years ago
The 2014 Pichon Lalande has the edge over Pichon Baron a few months ago. It is a tight race but here Pichon Lalande edges it. It has a wonderful, complex, intense bouquet with blackberry, briary, graphite and mint – just a straight-down-the-line Pauillac with all the aristocratic flair you look for. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, layers of pure black fruit laced with graphite and mint. It is blessed with a satin-like texture, not a hair out of place from start to finish, with a long, persistent aftertaste that completes a fabulous wine for the vintage. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, March 2018) — 7 years ago
2012 vintage. St. Helena. 85% Cabernet sauvignon, 10% Cabernet franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Deep dark red.Impressively deep dark fruit, powerful and amazingly elegant at the same time. Very profound with polished silky tannin and beautiful purity. Very impressive length too. A fabulous wine. Abv. 14,1% — 8 years ago

Gents, Ladies...this is great example of bottle variance. Shitty label belie a neck fill and evenly moist cork from a Durand. Sweet lush core from the beginning and tight structure throughout (not a lot of swirling) and drank phenomenally for 1.5 hours. Hugely unusual for a heavily Cab based St Estephe...fabulous! Why I love wine! Read my past reviews! Crazy — 6 years ago
The 1983 Cristal is fabulous. Rich, ample and generous, the 1983 is incredibly inviting, with tons of class and personality. A wine of real volume and textural breadth, the 1983 has enough pedigree to drink well for many years. None of the elements stand out in the 1983, the whole is far greater than the sum of the parts. “Nineteen eighty-three is a different animal from some of the other wines of the decade,” Lécaillon explains. “It was a heavy crop, with a lot of fruit. There was so much wine in the cellar that the team could not get to everything in a timely fashion, and so there were some lots that started to oxidize a bit, and that, naturally, made the wine bigger.” In tasting, though, there are no off aromas or mushroomy flavors that suggest the wine is fading. If anything, the 1983 is spectacularly beautiful right now, even in the presence of other wines from more highly reputed vintages. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, December 2018) — 7 years ago
