Awesome spice to this nose. Indian spices. Minty earthy funk. Age showing but this wine is not dead at all (1987!) Medium balanced acid and very restrained dark fruit across the palette. Tannins integrated (and quite chalky) with the juice well and the finish is long. Bravo. — 9 years ago
Second Matthiasson wine that I've tried and it definitely does not disappoint. Low alcohol, elegant smooth mouthfeel and not over-the-top with the cream which is a breath of fresh air for a Californian Chardonnay. Pineapple, guava, and a hint of banana on the nose, Meyer lemon and a distinct minerality on the palate with just a dollop of creamy texture. A lovely wine. Bravo. — 9 years ago

Better than when we had it at the winery. Fruit de force. Bravo. — 10 years ago

Rounding into its flavor profile for the final leg. Bold elegant nose and rich flavors reminiscent of chardonnays from the folatierre vineyard in Burgundy. Bravo! — 10 years ago
At its peak. Muddled dark fruit aromatics; anise hints in the aroma. Dusty terroir mid palate showing off its origins. Nice finish of elegance and style. Bravo! Thank you Rick for sharing this beautiful bottle with us. Great way to celebrate Valentines Day! 🍷 — 9 years ago
WOTN-> this absolutely crushed it tonight. Destroyed it's competition. Thank God that I poured it after the Jarvis. No one would've wanted to drink the Jarvis thereafter. Everything that you've come to expect from an incredible Celia Welch wine. Bravo!!! If I could post a picture of a mic drop in right now I would! This wine made me smile with every single sip, unbelievably good. The bottle pours out a beet and blackberry color blood. It's nose is rich with dried black fruits, crushed plums, dark cherries, yeast and some floral aromatics. It's dominent in black cherry, blackberry and plum flavors. Notes of cracked black pepper and blueberries accompany its dominating flavors. It sits with a medium plus body. It's tannins are a perfect velvety medium grain, it's acidity is moderate, all of which settle with a long finish. I was completely suprised at how much I liked this as I'd usually pick Argentina as king for this grape, but bravo..I've found my new favorite Malbec. — 10 years ago
Amazing! This wine present very well dark deep and looks less than 10 years old. Nice red and dark fruit notes, leather, smoked and well dress tanins. No harshness well integrated and long finish. Bravo! — 9 years ago
Key word is smiling - details - Boudreaux blend with 75% cab - Galloni and RP like it and thought I would procure and yes it is a baby but OMG it is damn good right now - I had Ric stuff before and it was good but this is his best of the four vintages I had
This is big bold and beautiful - it jumps at you with intensity and power and energy - and still smooth - please decant as I did for two hours
Dark purplish fruit is blowing away my nose and steering to happiness with the taste and finish - this is an old school taste I remember when I fell in love with Napa cabs - this baby will keep growing as it rest for a long time - bravo Mr Forman - and summing it up - all SMILES — 9 years ago
Wow In a flight of chateau montelena and caymus 85s this drop kicked them out of the room. Hints of Brett but adds to the complexity of black olive, camphor, Dried fruits and herbs. Patrick Campbell made so many great wines and does not get enough credit this wine sings, bravo. — 10 years ago
Violaceous rubi color, wood berry aromas with a touch of black chocolat. — 10 years ago
Ripe fruit perfectly balanced oak & just the right amount of acidity. Bravo — 10 years ago
