My first Stellenbosch, I believe. Bravo. Ripe fruit. Medium+ body. Good structure. New world-ish. I guess I've been missing out.

Clear, medium ruby. Clean nose, medium intensity, aromas of red and black berries, cedar, liquorice, pepper, mint, dried roses. Dry. Medium body, high acidity, high level of tannins, flavours of dark and red berries, cedar, liquorice, pepper, mint, dried roses. Medium finish. Outstanding.

3.5 years since I have been back to this one. It seems to have condensed a bit, matured an lot. Said 4 to 5 years 3.5 years ago but probably should have said 12-15! This wine isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Blackberry, mulberry, clove and sweet plums, hint of chocolate and truffle. Bordering full bodied, this has a noteworthy rounded nature on the palate with a sweet toasted oak tannin that shows early and makes this one finish strong. Always impressed by these wines.
