Château Poujeaux

Moulis en Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

Deep ruby color. Aromas of blackberry, plum, smoke, cedar and licorice. Beautiful aromas, nice tannins - ripe fruit, good wine for the price. — 12 days ago

Grusse en Billat Côtes du Jura Chardonnay 2013

France goes through to the knock out round of the world cup - this calls for a little celebration! The nose is a tiny bit oxydative already with cooked apples, lemon, pear, a buttery note and some white flowers lingering in the back. This is a seriously complex nose. The palate is extremely well made with a massive acid backbone but with some width and weight. There is almost a thickness quality to the mouthfeel at first reminding that of a premier cru white burgundy in the côte de beaune. The difference is in the finish with is very fresh, vertical, made of lemony touches all through the end and which lasts for a good minute. This is great stuff! — a day ago

Every sniff is worth another. Somewhere between cherry jolly ranchers, medicinal cola, and strawberries drizzled in thick balsamic. — 8 days ago

Hemel-en-Aarde Valley Chardonnay 2020

Pale lemon color with aromas of stone and citrus fruits with notes of floral, oak and baking spice. On the palate flavors of ripe apple, pear and citrus flavors, lively acidity, notes of cinnamon and oak. Long finish, nice mouthfeel, ending with a creamy mineral tang and nutty character. Nice but needs some time! — 21 days ago

Château Brane-Cantenac

Grand Cru Classé en 1855 Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Pretty, pretty, pretty good. Blackcurrant, cedar, vanilla, violet, big berry fruit, some herbal tea, black tea, ginger spice, and licorice. Vivacious and punchy. There is still prominent oak, but the balance is spot on. This is a long distance runner for sure, a very ripe, broad shouldered, delicious Margaux. — 12 days ago
