Excellent Shiraz from Australia — 8 months ago

1hr+ decant and could have used more. Dark red color. Interesting nose with metallic, medicinal tones that tingled my nose. Wine has massive strawberry and cassis; and is sweeter than I was expecting. Very concentrated. The tannins reduce with ample air and the spicy aspects dissipate with time as well making it more approachable. Medium finish. — 4 years ago
Medium bodied with zesty citrus and underripe stone fruit. Crisp, clean, and petrol-y. — 6 years ago
Purchased from Marion Hotel and Cellars near Adelaide, we enjoyed this in American River on Kangaroo Island. This full-bodied Shiraz evolved beautifully over the evening, revealing layers of dark berries, pepper, tobacco, Australian bark and earth, and a hint of anise, with a spicy finish. Balanced and complex, it earned full bonus points for how much we enjoyed it. A great wine, albeit with a screw cap. — 7 months ago

Outstanding. Not too sweet. Great flavor. Crisp but not acidic. Easy to drink and refreshing. — 4 years ago
Delicious but a stupid cork - why oh why? — 5 years ago
The 2023 Henschke Julius Eden Valley Riesling offers a crisp profile with pronounced apple and pear notes, showcasing refreshing acidity and pretty good balance. One year on the rack added some nice depth. — 7 months ago

So not much has changed in 3 yrs since first trying this in the tasting room. The profile is lean and linear. 69 CS 16 Merlot and the rest PV. This clearly the weakest build of Jeff’s run of left bank builds. The 2014 was classic, so not huge numbers for the CS. THE TEXTURE IS LOVELY though. ;) 90+ for sure, keeping the streak ALIVE!! — 4 years ago

No words. Nose is classic Chardonnay. Palette is the epitome of Chardonnay. Superb. — 6 years ago

2020 vintage. A fave CA chard and producer. Medium-medium heavy body. Tasting slightly more tropical and advanced with less acidity than usual. Still absolutely delicious tho. Would like to retaste and reevaluate in 5-6 months tho. Based on 30 vintages of tasting this particular wine, betting it reconciles any tawdry, fleeting concerns that occupy my compromised palate and right quick. 01.22.25. — 6 months ago
