Purchased during visit to winery in September 2022. Red fruit and roses on the nose. Rich, fruit forward wine with raspberry, dried cherry, earth, spice, saline and an effervescent note. Nice wine, but spice on the finish is a touch overpowering. — 10 days ago
Carneros Pinot. Sweet fruit nose. Medium high tannin/acid.
Nice finish — 7 months ago
Donum, magnum, 2012 is a limited edition produced from their three finest blocks; once and only bottle named the “1870.” A nice ruby red with definite signs of bricking giving it an amber like color. Cherry-raspberry fruit jumps from the glass with scents of floral, spice, a pine forest floor, vanilla and sandal-wood cedar with a lingering smokiness at the end giving the pinot a well rounded nose. Taste - cherry, blackberry and raspberry fruit flavors, pepper and tea spices with subtle anise and a licorice earthy medium finish. Tannins are still present but blended. Be interesting to see how it opens up throughout the evening. — 2 years ago

Pop and pour. A radiant medium ruby red color with a purplish hue. On the nose: candied raspberry, dried herbs, earth, pepper, cherries, tea, slight vanilla. Taste: A smooth, creamy, rich, nicely structured wine with dark cherry, cola, ruby red grapefruit, some earth, and a spiced tart plum finish. YUM! — 8 months ago
Happy New Year Delectable!
It's a pinot noir new year (Clos De La Roche, Donum west slope pinot, Schramsberg blanc de noir) with an oven roasted chicken dinner!
Double decant and pour the Clos de la Roche. A formidable medium ruby red color. On the nose: spicy cherry, forest floor, slight menthol, raspberry, mushrooms. Taste: smooth, creamy, lush, structured wine with cherry, gamey, minerals, and a spiced strawberry medium plus dry still some tannins kicking finish. Nice start to the night. Cheers! — a year ago

Purchased during September 2022 visit to the winery. Wine is produced from Estate Carneros fruit. Dried cherry, raspberry and red plum fruit, with cinnamon spice, carbon, minerality and an effervescent note. Spice and fruit driven with nice backbone of acidity. — 2 months ago
It has definitely receded with age. Much different than the 2012s I enjoyed several years ago. The fruit is muted and it’s a bit more astringent. But it’s a lingering finish and it has a nice mouthfeel. The alcohol seems more pronounced now though. I liked it as different but I prefer the youthful version with more pop and balance. — 5 months ago
