“Balanced” is a great way to describe this wine; some oak yet minerally. Very nice with poached halibut and carrots. — 5 years ago
Enjoying a gifted Burgundy from a dear friend, she knows what my palate is like, and strategically chosen wisely to keep a smile on my face!
Struck flint, partially burnt wood, pear peel, dried lemon rind, cold yellow apple, fresh lemon zest, wet sandstone, medium acidity, long finish, very satisfying and not even 1er Cru but drinking like one tonight! Could hold easily another 3-5 years. — 5 years ago
Little wine somewhere buried into my cellar and surprise surprise absolutely delicious. — 6 years ago
A bit too minerally for me but still good — 7 years ago
Medium plus acidity that lasted for the whole bottle and did not open up as I would have hoped. a lot of ripe and tart red fruits, along with some herbaceous notes. I think this may need to sit for a few more years to enjoy its best qualities. — 7 years ago
Taught and restrained, especially considering Beaune in 2015. Solid texture with red fruit, pleasant acidity, and a soft mineral edge. — 4 years ago
Delectable - this is the Premier Cru Les Folatieres. At the Downs Club Burgundy Dinner - brief notes. This had pronounced struck match on the nose. Great intensity on the palate showing stone fruit - 2017 will be good for White Burgundies I feel. Ramon, the host thought this was the WOTN. I agreed. — 5 years ago
Pure pleasure! A bowl of Fun exploding out of serious terroir! — 5 years ago
Interesting Pinot. Very tight and green in the beginning. Adapted a character after 1-1.5 hours. Opened up and allowed us to pick up earthy tart dark cherry fruit. — 6 years ago
If you like 'em young, vibrant, and crisp, this is a nice White Burgundy. At $50 from Costco, it's not too bad. As a pre-dinner sipper, perhaps a little too bracing. Lemon, white peach, light flowers... No flaws, but also nothing overly memorable. — 8 years ago
Austin really liked it. Well balanced. — 4 years ago
Les Folatieres is absolutely a magical vineyard. Energy of the site completely overtaking any wine in the glass. So great hard to put into words the amount of energy and ethereal structure is trapped in here. Thankful to have a few bottles 🙏🏼 — 5 years ago
The 2015 Volnay Taillepieds 1er Cru shows a bit of reduction on the nose, eventually clearing to offer undergrowth and bay leaf infused red fruit. The palate is underpinned by firm tannin, impressive depth. Quite a complex and grippy Volnay with superb length. Pascal Roblet has really got a handle on this Volnay. I can see this ageing with style and panache. (Neal Martin, Vinous, July 2018)

Reminds me why I fell in love with Burgundy. Acid, fruit, kiss of oak....makes Colin a happy boy! — 7 years ago

Very dark rubi robe, nose of dark cherries and a hint of spices, pronounced tannins (whole clusters?) and a good medium body and length. Will be better in 3 years. Really good stuff ! — 4 years ago
