“Balanced” is a great way to describe this wine; some oak yet minerally. Very nice with poached halibut and carrots. — 6 years ago
Complexity hits you right away. Slight oak on the nose and palate. Fresh cut green grass, citrus, hint of pear and acacia flowers on the nose. Awesome minerality and mouth coating acidity on the palate. Ends in a medium plus finish. — 6 years ago
Crisp apple tart mild mineral not as “buttery”. I really enjoyed this wine — 7 years ago
Very nice premier cru Maranges. Looking for value on the list at the Grill isn’t always easy, but there are usually a couple bottles that catch the eye. Delicious fruit, but with a ton of restraint. Deep earth, good acid, definitely some fuller tannins. Very nice pairing with a variety of dishes. Will be better in a few years but very good today too. — 9 months ago
Les Folatieres is absolutely a magical vineyard. Energy of the site completely overtaking any wine in the glass. So great hard to put into words the amount of energy and ethereal structure is trapped in here. Thankful to have a few bottles 🙏🏼 — 6 years ago
Little wine somewhere buried into my cellar and surprise surprise absolutely delicious. — 7 years ago

Medium ruby with medium red ruby rim . Quite discreet aroma at first , then red cherry, strawberry , a chalky mineral element , touch of sous bois , and spice. On the palate quite fresh red fruit , strawberry and cherry mostly , quite light bodied with good quite crisp acidity though slightly short on the finish . This is still quite primary , fresh fruit , so good to enjoy now and over the next 5-10 years perhaps . Almost the cheapest of the red burgundies on the (rather expensive !) list here , and a good pick. — 2 years ago
Delectable - this is the Premier Cru Les Folatieres. At the Downs Club Burgundy Dinner - brief notes. This had pronounced struck match on the nose. Great intensity on the palate showing stone fruit - 2017 will be good for White Burgundies I feel. Ramon, the host thought this was the WOTN. I agreed. — 6 years ago
Enjoying a gifted Burgundy from a dear friend, she knows what my palate is like, and strategically chosen wisely to keep a smile on my face!
Struck flint, partially burnt wood, pear peel, dried lemon rind, cold yellow apple, fresh lemon zest, wet sandstone, medium acidity, long finish, very satisfying and not even 1er Cru but drinking like one tonight! Could hold easily another 3-5 years. — 6 years ago
A comparatively thin Chardonnay, with typical notes of lemon and oak. This wine was quite tasty though and it paired rather well with a variety of cooked fish and sashimi. — 7 years ago
Interesting Pinot. Very tight and green in the beginning. Adapted a character after 1-1.5 hours. Opened up and allowed us to pick up earthy tart dark cherry fruit. — 7 years ago
