Cranberry/currant on the nose, bizzare color, 1st sip raspberrish second taste apricot yet tart — 6 years ago
Tasted blind. Reddish tawny color. Edges suggest its old. Notes of strawberry, raspberry, iron, roses. Some zing and power in the nose. Slaps your face when tasted. Sappy. Powerful impact. Long finish. Other guesses were in Burgundy land eg Griotte but I went with 90 Rayas. Bingo. — 7 years ago
Fresh, crisp light rose. Perfect for a hot summer day! — 7 years ago
Double decanted about 3 hours before serving, and already as I was decanting the smell was intoxicating. Layers of sweet balsamic, tar, dried cherries, dried roses, and leather overlying chestnuts and baking spice. Tannins are grippy but well-integrated and nicely balance the acidity. The finish is long and ends on the balsamic and sweet nutty flavors including shaved almond and chestnut. In its drinking window now but will likely shine in another 10-15 years. — 8 years ago
Vanilla, brown sugar, lemon curd, a little simple, more heat on the finish than I would like. — 9 years ago
Oh my heavens. I could wax poetic about Vietti all day. Violets and crushed purple roses jump out of the glass, followed by tart bramble fruits, high acid, and gripping tannins. Nebbiolos smell like the Deep South in summer: wisteria and hot asphalt. — 11 years ago
Time Tested
03 was historically hot & dry. Did Monprivato succeed despite these conditions?
DAY 1
Served the wine with the Vinloq System which allows nitrogen to be pulled into the bottle with pouring
👀Brown/orange mixed with red
👃Cherries, tobacco, tar & roses. Some stewed/dried fruit
👅Mature. Florals and fruit are present. Light. Could use more acid. Easy to drink. Balanced
Remaining wine Slow Decanted in my fridge
DAY 10
Nice aged notes. Savory. Okay precision. Tannins are good. Kept improving in the glass
DAY 17
👃Classic & beautiful with aged notes. Finally what I was hoping for👍
👅Drinking well. Cherry. Significant tar. Savory
Similar on the 3 days, but the nose was most beautiful on DAY 17
The pedigree was apparent here in this lovely barolo despite the vintage conditions. Balance was retained with enough precision to allow the Mascarello Monprivato personality to come through👏 — 4 years ago
Had the 2009 vintage in July 2019 in Kairon with family for birthday celebration. Excellent. — 7 years ago
1985 DRC Grandes Echezeaux carries the magical scent of that makes you dream with more of this bottles. Intense and vibrant red fruits, spices, earthy & roses. The palate still dense, complex, a work of art! — 7 years ago
Delicious grower champagne. Great recommendation from @Sarah O'Kelley — 9 years ago
2009 vintage. Pie Rupestris. Medium plus concentration of roses, violets, tar and grassy notes. On the palate, medium plus acidity and alcohol. Full concentration of cherry, tar and roses. Very moreish. Great length although lacks some finesse. Very good. Drink now until 2025. — 10 years ago
Impressive stuff Mr. Lynch — 13 years ago
Third rating for this: started at 10 degrees , and warmed up to around 15-18 in a warm 29 degrees tropical Singapore. Was fresh, crisp, lemon-like at first, followed by zesty mandarin orange flavours that finally matured to mellow honey apricots. Best of all coloured like the upcoming Chinese New Year - perfect gold. — 5 years ago
Low pressure of course. Vinous. — 6 years ago
Light raspberry on the nose. Ripe strawberry palette. Tasty and amazing value for this blend! — 7 years ago
Minerals initially segueing into light fruit. Fun. — 8 years ago

Bottle variance! Last one was bit maderized but this one was showing much better. Soft mature ripe fruit of peaches, compote and bread yeast toast. Enjoyed it. — 9 years ago
Good times in Nashville. — 10 years ago
Wonderful! Tar and roses for real. — 11 years ago
Wow. Long finish on this deep and beautiful wine. Roses, earth, chewy tannins, and something beautifully dusty. Just wow. — 13 years ago

For the price it’s fabulous. Paid $23. Entry level Lassalle. Won’t make me think Cuvée Angeline but it’s good! — 4 years ago
