Dark golden in color with a brownish hue.
Light nose and very dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing lemons, apples, spices, light over ripen citrus fruits, earth, light wood, herbs, light vegetables and white pepper.
Short finish with limes and bitter herbs.
This 28 year old is a little past its prime, but still drinkable and interesting.
I had higher expectations, but at this age, it really depends on the individual bottle. That said, I still enjoyed it.
Needed 30 minutes to open up properly.
Good by itself as a sipping wine.
100% Chardonnay grapes were aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
90 points.

Sourdough, yeast, fresh strawberries and lemon zest. — 3 years ago
A bit disappointing compared to the prior versions. Light, creamy mouth feel, very low lees notes but the mineral precision is not quite there — 5 years ago
Pale gold. Lemon. Prominent minerality and acidity. — 5 years ago
Young, fresh, delicious Corton Charlemagne. Perfect first bottle for one of our favorite venues….slightly oaky, nutty scent with soft apricot/peachy flavor….it went disappeared pretty quickly so can’t be bad! — 7 months ago
Dark rubi robe, nose of dark cherries, plum, top soil and asian spices. Dense and mineral in the mouth, medium bodied, very reserved and only showing its game after a couple of hours. This is a very classy grand cru that is accessible now after decanting but has lots of potential. Top stuff. — 7 months ago

Wonderfully fragrant with notes of cinnamon gum, amaretto, leather shop, white mushroom, spiced plum on the nose. Mellow notes of cherry pie, buttery crust, with hints of marzipan on the palate with smooth tobacco and cinnamon on a nice lingering finish. Drink by itself! :) — 5 years ago
Delicious fruit but missing the length and complexity of his better bottlings — 6 years ago
Delicious. Crisp and not buttery. Pinot noir based - blanc de noir. Aged 4 years on lees. No sugar added to make it bone dry! Lots of chalk in soil. — 7 months ago
Memorabel deze wijn heerlijk kruidig — 7 months ago
Another beautiful champagne from the Launois family. A pale old gold color with nice perlage and intensity. Freshly baked bread and green apple aromas for days. Melons and white peaches with herbs for good measure. There’s an innate sense of lemon zest in the air that’s just magnificent.
Pure Grand Cru Chardonnay from Mesnil-sur-Oger. Four years of aging on lees gives this a resplendent and stately nature. Nice acidity and a superb mouthfeel, especially on the second day. Apples and chalk on the palate alongside vibrant citrus fruits. I struggle to think of a better value in Champagne than this. Stock up. — 8 months ago

Delectable Wine

The 2020 Corton Grand Cru is well-defined and focused on the nose, with a mélange of red and black fruit. Cedar and tobacco hints emerge with time. It has a soft, rounded entry with lower acidity, quite plush for a Corton, but it doesn't have the structure and precision of the best wines in this flight. Corpulent finish. Drink this over the next 15 years. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2024)
