Drink now. Cool to try my birth year, but not the best vintage for this wine. — 5 months ago

Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Chardonnay 2015

What a beautiful expression of Chardonnay in the glass. Both subtle and interesting on the nose, richness of color, and a perfectly balanced wine. And while the wine had a strong mineral foundation it was much more engaging than just a single note. So glad my cellar has several more bottles to enjoy in the years ahead. — 10 months ago

Aux Chaignots Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2010

Disappointing. Very concentrated and precise in the mouth. Excellent structure and minerality. But a muted aroma and inflection of flavor, which I assume is brett. — 4 years ago

Vieilles Vignes Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir 2017

I’d say this is on point. Years have been good this “still” fuller bodied red burg from old vines. The ripe red cherry definitely feels concentrated on the palate, especially on the tip of the tongue. The wine is still balanced with medium acidity, alcohol and medium plus tannins surprisingly. More about timing than anything else with this bottle, open soon. Cheers. — 9 months ago

Les Porêts Saint-Georges Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Light, bright, tart cherry, nice finish. So balanced and well done. Can’t wait to see what this family does with Williams Selyem and CA grapes in the years ahead — 4 years ago

Grand cru quality. Way too young. I will love to see this in 15 years. Right now it’s really good Pinot but in a decade or two I bet it will be singing with complexity — 6 years ago

Les Fremiets Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2022

Single Vineyard Red Burgundy. Dark crimson color with a ruby core. Aromas of red and black berries, red flowers, baking spices, leather and freshly turned soil. Flavors of mushroom, red berry/cherry fruit and savory herbs and spices. Slight hint of smoky oak. Extremely smooth tannins and beautiful balance. Light bodied with medium-minus acidity. The finish is a bit short. So easy to drink, especially for such a young wine. Thanks for sharing this one, Kasey and Pete. — 5 months ago

Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1993

Unanimously the Belle of the bunch, this was dripping with complexity tonight. Deep garnet with some browning towards the rim. The nose is vinous with bruised, ripe and desiccated strawberry, dried flowers, mushrooms and loads of sous bois; savory. Good structure still. Long finish. Drink now. — 10 months ago

Joseph Faiveley Meursault Chardonnay

Ik denk m’n eerste Meursault….

Bevalt goed! Hier kan ik wel aan wennen 😂.

Zachte zuren, ziltig en zalvend. Bitters komen in de finale. Lichte boterzuren, granny smith, iets toast, fijne mineralen/grassig. Abrikoos, sterfruit. Prima, lekker, maar geen wauw.
Bij deze ene gaat het desondanks niet blijven.
