Estate named Beau-Séjour in 1787 by General Jacques de Carle, proprietor at the time. Michel Bécot bought estate from Dr Jean Fagouet in 1969 increasing vines from 10.5 hectares to 15, acquiring Trois Moulins plateau in 1979, kept the name Beau-Séjour Bécot. Blend of 87% Merlot, 9% Cab Sauv & 4% Cab Franc. Nice berry aromas, ripe cherry & fresh raspberry flavors with notes of sweet cacao & tobacco adding some toasty notes. A second Acker buy. CVed with first 3/25/20. Lighter and medium bodied wine that’s balanced and good pairing for lots of food. Got that stimulating texture of the Southern Rhône blend. Great buy! AA5. Opened 6/6/20 very fresh texture still with the lighter not so complex red berry notes that paired very well with Amah bone soup with highly watered down Kimchee. Relatively simple but still a good pairing wine. 70 Grenache 30 Syrah. — 4 years ago

Pretty funky upon opening. Horsey like a Raffault. But there is a sense of big cherry fruit lurking. Very floral as well. Some combo there of fresh flowers and horseshit. After 30-45 minutes the shit is gone and it’s all violets, earth and cherries. Awesome. Morel is magic. Palate is deep, raw like only Morel can be, with terrific freshness and acidity and a lovely rusticity. St Aubin Rouge are not the most elegant Burgundies but they have so much more than elegance. This wine is long. Really long. It’s a crazy wine that I think with 3-4 more years will really show well. This is like a young version of the 08. — 7 years ago

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our conductor Andris Nelsons is leading just one wonderful piece, MAHLER (Symphony No. 3), accompanied with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus.

We're revisiting some producer bottles from our late Spring France vacation earlier this year.

Stunning nose of pineapple core, wildflower honey and wet stones, I'm not sure I can actually describe all the magic happening in this glass. Palate is evolving with each sip, under-ripe pineapple, over-ripe pear, watery honey, light oak touch and wet slate dust. Just amazing!
