Dinner with Colette and Mick — 8 years ago
Had on pizza night. First time breaking in the uni. Young, medium body, deep color, refreshing, medium high acid, cassis. Semi carbonic method adds body and keeps it refreshing — 9 years ago
At Michael's in Friday Harbor on San Juan Island doing the Honeymoon and Michael is the winemaker of this really special and small production blend of Cab Franc and Syrah called Qone'. Impossible to find anywhere else so the bottom line is that Colette and i get to say "nyaaah nyaaah we got some and you didn't" to all of you out there in Delectable-land. — 9 years ago

Some of you may remember the post that I did back in March over a truly incredible bottle of 2012 Nine Suns. I took a Picture of the cork that said "we love you already". My 1st granddaughter!! The angel is just a few days old. She's already leaning for a sip of Verite!!! Smart Girl!!! I actually sent a text to my friend Howard right after I opened it and told him "I don't get it". I gave it four hours and boy was I wrong. Truly seamless, truly integrated, true perfection. It's young and needed a little time. My friend Kirk tells me all the time "the sign to a great bottle is that nothing stands out". That's because everything is seamlessly integrated." He's 100% correct. This fires on all cylinders but does it eloquently with finesse and grace. The only thing you have to focus on is not what is evident and in your face but what can be relished through countless layers of taste profiles. All I can say to this is Bravo!! 1st and foremost to my daughter and her little Angel Colette. 😇. — 9 years ago

Have you tried Pinot Noir from Alsace 🇫🇷 - a region best known for its “noble” white varieties, i.e., Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, & Muscat?
It’s a real treat and this one is a rare gem, produced by Domaine Weinbach, a family-run estate since 1898 (though the winery was first established in 1612 by Capuchin friars), in the Village of Kayserberg. In honor of these 17th Century origins, the label features an image of a friar carrying a basket of grapes. 🍇🍇
Domaine Weinbach is one of the most celebrated estates in Alsace thanks in large part to the leadership of matriarch Colette Faller, working alongside her two daughters, Catherine and Laurence. 👏🏻👏🏻
Since the devastating loss of Colette and Laurence, the estate remains in the loving hands of Catherine now joined by her sons (Colette’s grandsons), continuing the family’s legacy & commitment to excellence in winemaking. ♥️♥️
Grapes for this wine came from the prized Altenbourg Vineyard, farmed biodynamically and organically. 🌱
This wine has a pale ruby hue (on its way to garnet) and bouquet of Morello cherry, raspberry, red plum, rose, toast, cardamom, mushroom, & forest floor notes. On the palate, it offers firm acidity, fine-grained, supple tannins, high alcohol (14.5% ABV), and a combination of elegance, nuance, finesse, and complexity. — 2 years ago

If you, like me, wanted to cap off your turkey week with a big fat ribeye and a bigass red wine, I can report that this is delicious. — 6 years ago
Crisp, pear, Light vanilla, banana. Love it! Thanks Andrew and Colette! — 8 years ago
Loved this love! Crisp and fruity. Would love to drink it again — 8 years ago
I've been wanting to drink more wine from Alsace and today am have this Riesling from Domaine Weinbach and the Faller's, Colette, Catherine and Laurence.
On the nose I have peach, apricot, honey, ginger, petrol and a nice mineral note.
The palate has nice fruit notes of peach, apricot, nectarines, honey and wet rock minerality.
This wine is medium bodied with medium + acidity and a long balanced finish. Everything is up front and at the mid-palate, hardly anything on the backend. All in all a nice riesling from Alsace. Have a wonderful weekend and be safe. Nostrovia! — 8 years ago
