I liked this a lot. Clean, crisp. — 4 years ago
Mature bottle golden color nose of white flowers stone fruits and some oxidative nutty notes mixed with earthiness. Almost unctuous texture and complexity with hints of being on edge of oxidation on palate. Excellent with seafood Easter meal. A Kermit Lynch project with grapes from single vineyard of Collet and involving Raveneau! — 4 years ago
Absolutely extraordinary. A wine that deserves to be ranked amongst the absolute top tier of Champagnes. 100% CH, 3gr RS, blocked MLF and 57 months on the lees. The wine is acting like a symphony as it’s stepping up and reaching the crescendo. While being sharp and linear it’s also rich and complex with a dynamic development in the glass, everything balanced in a symbiotic relationship throughout an everlasting finish. Don’t be afraid to serve this in a Burgundy glass. — 7 years ago
Popped and poured; no formal notes. Consumed over two days with consistent performance both nights. “Les Fôrets” is a lieu dit inside of Montmains. Romain ferments in a combination of 90% cement egg and 10% foudre. This is my kind of 1er Cru Chablis. There is an abundance of energy. Bright, crisp tropical fruits that lean more towards the star fruit side of things. There is lemon citrus and loads of minerals. The oak treatment is extremely light and imparts more to the texture than anything else. The finish is long, refreshing and super satisfying. Really lovely stuff. — 3 years ago
