A bit austere. Really fell down vs the DRII immediately before — 10 years ago
Another winner from Caymus! Fruit forward, huge but beautifully balanced. Nose is wonderful. Full body. Well structured. Great finish. Every bit as good as the 2012! — 11 years ago
My kind of wine, a lot of meats and dark fruit. Mainly wood and meats in it. I can't have enough of this amazing wine though it can wait for a bit longer for a better opening. — 11 years ago
Past its prime ? Could be. Otherwise a smooth and well rounded blend, a bit on the dry side, notes of earth and dark ripe berries. Was paired very well with a prime aged steak and truffles. — 13 years ago
Probably opened it a bit too late. — 8 years ago
Wow. This is young, and the nose is a bit of dark red berry suffusing a sea of resolving American Oak. The American oak is so pronounced that, had I tasted this blind, I might have taken it for Ridge... :) This has decades ahead, even if -only- a Riserva. Like La Rioja Alta 904, a fantastic value in old school Rioja... — 9 years ago
Wow. More flavor, much better than their regular cab. Silky, velvet, smooth. Chocolate. Rich fruit. Big, full flavor, lots of flavor. Not old world style for sure, not subtle. It's a big bomb. We would pay up to $75 for this so a bit overpriced to us.

Much brighter fruit on nose than 2004. Zesty by comparison. Actually a slightly more delicate, gentle texture. Less intensity and a bit shorter on the finish. — 11 years ago
Aging nicely, with a Bordeaux-esque nose. A bit on the lean side with good acidity and tannin structure. #wine #tignanello — 11 years ago

Described as elegant
Agree though a little disappointed
Great wine but wanted a bit more
Unique flavor profile

The most generously fruity of Ridge Zins. Black berry and stewed fruit in the front, young and opulent at first compared to their other wines. More resolved and firm in the back with a near perfect juxtaposition of acidity and tannin. White pepper in the finish. A bit hot and jumpy at this time. Great potential but needs some softening time still. — 8 years ago
A classic, old school Bordeaux in a classic year. Decanted x5h. Still bright ruby, nose is mild barnyard with black cherry, leather, graphite on the attack with a lingering sense of tobacco and dried herbs. Tannins are resolving well with a bit of dry dust on the finish. Lively acidity and very youthful overall. — 9 years ago

Neck fill and good cork. Immediate nose of cedar, anise, of course eucalyptus and even some hibiscus. It's deep in the glass and core was still tight, even bit tannic and firm acids. This vintage is drinking better now than the legendary 74's as some of that bigger vintage is falling apart. A real beauty! — 10 years ago
A bit of oxidation, but otherwise, just fine. Fruit still there. 1970, 45 year old wine for our 45th Anniversary. — 11 years ago
Thanks to a good cork, still alive, with a super bouquet, although a bit faded in the mouth. Wish I was in as good shape! — 11 years ago

Dark ruby, bright, doesn’t look it’s age. Awesome funky old Cal Cab nose. Notes of cherry, cranberry sauce, dirt and some balsa wood. Some steminess. Great perfume. Nice in the mouth but missing just a little bit in the mid palate. Really enjoyed this. — 8 years ago
