Louis XV Extra Brut Rosé Champagne Blend 2006

Uitnodigende geur, mooie, hele fijne bubbels, bij de eerste glaasjes schuimde de wijn erg, daarna goed te schenken.
Heerlijk zacht en nog heel fruitig, veel aardbei. Prachtige rose champagne.

Brut Sélect Cordon Bleu Champagne 2002

I don’t know this house. They make Cordon Bleu—brut, extra brut, rosé, also a higher level called Princes, and their grand marque is Louis XV, also making a high end Vinotèque from older stock. House was founded in 1837 in Epernay. This is the only one I’ve had, a Cordon Bleu brut. And w 20 years on it, it’s pretty good juice. — 2 years ago

Princes Rosé Champagne 2014

I can’t lie, the aesthetics do please me. A gorgeous medium salmon color with plenty of tiny bubbles. The nose is quite delightful with the customary red berries upfront. A bit of candied nuts and spice compliment. Citrus aromas are just lovely here along with green apples and pretty flowers.

Elegant and focused with laser like precision. Pure Pinot Noir with character and drama for days. Medium bodied but very light on its feet, as graceful as a ballerina. Smooth acidity that still manages to thrill. The fruit is always at the forefront but never threatens to become unbalanced. Splendid.

Exhilarating in the mouth. The strawberries and raspberries are delicious with a hint of cinnamon and spice. Orange peel and a touch of lemon. A terrific rosé champagne, especially for special occasions.

Brut Louis XV Champagne 2012

Honey, brioche, cream, citrus, and peach. Soft bubbles, and a sweeter than usual flavor but really really nice. — 2 years ago

Princes Blanc de Blancs Champane Chardonnay

Bright but deep-ish gold with fine persistent bubbles. Abundant nose of yellow apple and toasted brioche. Medium palate confirms the nose adding dusty tannin-esque acidity through the clean finish. Fine example of Blanc de Blancs Champagne that fits the bill for a great starter but with enough substance to accompany most "white wine" fare. Drink it when you buy it, of course. — 5 months ago
