The 2014 Lagniappe is an outstanding bottling from Gramercy Cellars, this Syrah was sourced from the Forgotten Hills, Red Willow and Minick Vineyards. The wine underwent 66% whole cluster fermentation and was aged for 18 months in used puncheons prior to bottling. This shows wonderful aromatics of dried herbs, red cherry, red raspberry, rose petals, Parma ham and blood orange. There are ripe flavors of black cherry, Chinese black tea, mint, coffee grounds and hints of orange rind and anise. This dense Syrah needs a two hour decant for full expression and drinks even better on the second day. Lithe and light on its feet, this will cellar well for at least another ten years. Phenomenal at this price. Parma violets on the nose, lychee and floral aromatics throughout the palate. Some awesome turpene control going on at Hofstätter. Balanced acid and scarily drinkable. — 7 years ago

メルローらしい丸くプルーンタッチな果実味。タンニンも細やか。そして何より青さが全くない。

Legit. Truly legit. This is outstanding. Deep nose. Spellbinding. Roses, meeting road tar, loam, spice, glorious. Tea. Palate is an insane monster of deep glorious cherry fruit intermingled with spice and what purity. Sick definition and so clean. Big tannins that are sicko ripe. Unreal length. Goes toe to toe with the big boys. Length is crazy and pumps insane fruit. Wow. It’s so deep and complex but insanely fresh. — 6 years ago

Tropical on nose / melon, ripe, aromatic Asian pear / light, crisp, balanced, ultra-refreshing with a bitter-leaning finish / 10 days on skins — 7 years ago
Rarely in the world do you taste a thing so delightful. Strong mousse, funk, a bit of heat. Incredible orange sparkling. I already want more. — 8 years ago

My first Brachetto. From Piedmont, similar to Frapatto - slightly sparking. Paired this with dessert. Nice combo. Not to sweet, and definitely refreshing. — 5 years ago
