Still youthfully dark in color with a very slight browning on rim. Upon opening still very tight and shy on nose. Decided to decant this for 3.5h prior our Christmas dinner and it started to open around 3h mark. Then it was a great Barbaresco from Treiso offering slightly darker side of Nebbiolo expression with ripe cherry, some leather and smoke, fine pepper notes. Healthy acidity and fine tannins offers solid back bone for further aging and development. I take this is 2-3 years from peak and should continue to drink several years after that. Pretty young but drinks a bit older. Leather and tobacco mixed with bright red cherries and finely chopped dried herbs. Medium body, medium tannins, medium finish. Dried fruit, tart cherry, and rhubarb. All around a really good drink! — 2 years ago
Really a wonderful barbaresco riserva. Should have bought more than one bottle. Lots of sediment, so a decant is in order. Wonderfully deep nose, so velvety on the palate. Nice long finish. Just enough refreshing acid too - could have used a smidge more but still very nice. Great pairing with Allen brothers duroc pork chops. — 2 years ago
Decanted for 1.5 hours first - a little rough at first but opened up - tart cherries, ripe fruit, very round and smooth but tannins have a strong grip. Great with steak! — 6 years ago
Had this for our anniversary! New fave. Can’t believe I ever thought I didn’t like Italian wine. Full body, tells a story. Slightly tannic. Blackberry, clay pot. Really really good value for a low splurge. — 8 months ago
