Pike Road Vineyard

Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2022

Wines from Oregon are not easy to access in Australia so it was great to be offered this one from Prince Wine Store in Melbourne. Mid crimson - transparent in parts. Spiced black and red cherries. A lolly, confectionery jujube like note. Pike Road is the sister winery to Elk Cove. Lovely drinking right now - not for the cellar. We used to buy Oregon Wines when our son was at the University of Oregon in 2007-2008, but we have pretty much run out. Great to revisit Oregon Pinot. — 10 months ago

Mount Richmond Yamhill - Carlton Pinot Noir 2021

Mount Richmond Vineyard sits on Willakenzie soils in the heart of the Yamhill Carlton AVA. Ruby with aromas of red and black fruits and spice. On the palate flavors of sour cherry and raspberry flavors with earthy tones. Full-bodied, fine tannins, balanced, medium finish ending with big earthy spice notes. — 2 years ago

Chapel Down

Curious Brew Lager 2019

GV
9.2

A favourite of mine. This English lager is smooth, with a subtle malt flavour that has the slightest hint of fruit. Brewed using Saaz and Cascade hops it is in its finally stages re-fremented with champagne yeast and Nelson Sauvin hops.

All-in-all a delightful lager.

La Bohème Yamhill - Carlton Brut Rosé 2015

Elk Cove’s sparkling isn’t produced every year, but when it is it’s a stunning sparkler! This vintage doesn’t disappoint. Lovely mousse, strawberries on the nose and delicate toast and berries with lychee in the palate. It is simply delicious. Glad I have another! — 7 years ago

2022 vintage. Medium body. Big boysenberry right off the bat. Juicy. Could use some more tannins. Maybe they’ll show up at some point. 3.27.24. — a year ago

Les Picasses Chinon Cabernet Franc 2013

Profoundly earthy, with a great helping of pyrazine. Restrained fruit- blackberry and raspberry, and a garden-full of freshly turned soil, herbs and spices. Great balance of acid and tannin. Rustic and compelling - curious to see where this goes in a few more years. — 6 years ago

Estate Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Rosé 2017

Summer in a wine glass. Tastes like warm sunshine kissed fruit with a wonderful lingering Pinot berry mouthfeel. It's so good. And 2017 is now all 100% estate fruit with limited production so get it while you can! Best served slightly chilled but not cold. Room temp is good too. — 7 years ago
