Bright acid, red currant, cranberry, tart cherry. Lemon balm. Thyme. Some kind of flower I can’t point out. Cedar. Citrus zest. — 3 years ago
Pair this classically perfect 14-year-old Rioja with cheese and crackers that you share with your beautiful wife, ideally in a hotel room after you’ve been evacuated from your home for a week due to fires caused by lightning storms. Your appreciation will be elevated if you precede your wine with a few days of cooking paella for hundreds of evacuees and firefighters. If this is not a possibility, I suggest pairing your Tondonia with grilled lamb, which will play well with the wine’s tobacco, leather and cranberry notes. — 4 years ago
Racy! A little red sports car. Highly kinetic with crunchy strawberry, cranberry, and wineberry (R. phoenicolasius) on a prominent, angular skeleton. A faint touch of barbecue spices runs the last few yards of the race as the fruit fades. Quality stuff. — 5 years ago
Citrus, cranberry, berry bramble, earthiness. Good stuff. — 6 years ago
Quite nice. Zippy, with raspberry and cranberry. Not that complex, but very drinkable, especially with chicken. Great value at sub-$20 — 6 years ago
Raspberry, cranberry, dirty earth. Goodness. — 4 years ago
Juicy but dry finish. Cranberry, good room temp too. — 4 years ago
Bright and vibrant. Strawberry, cranberry, cherry cola, with touch of smoke. The purity of the red fruits is the standout here. The body is a bit lean but not without substance, finishing off with lingering and authoritative mineral notes. — 6 years ago
I’d have thought I was drinking a Morgon: Pronounced earth and funk juxtaposed against bright, young red fruit—cranberry and sour cherry. My re-education on the Pacific NW is going wonderfully @Kyle Bella — 6 years ago
$45 Big nose. Notes of blackberry, black cherry, rose petals and spice on the nose. Light in color. Full bodied. Bone dry. High acid. Medium-plus alcohol. High tannins with a strong chewy aftertaste. Notes of black cherry, cranberry, wet leaves, mushrooms, smoke, sweet tobacco and cola on the palate. This is a bone dry, DELICIOUS barabaresco. It verges on savory with its notes of wet forest floor while maintaining some beautiful fruit forward tones. I was told that this is a great example of a classic barbaresco nebbiolo, and if this is the case I am excited to drink more of this complex grape. — 2 years ago
Last night I opened the 2017 Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County, California. It has been a little bit since I have had an Au Bon Climat from Jim Clendenen. Jim's work is always spot on and well worth what you pay.
On the nose there is cranberry, strawberry, cherry, anise, clove, spice and a nice earthiness.
On the palate there is cranberry, strawberry, cherry, caramel, herbal notes, red currant, light oak and that nice earthiness.
This wine is light to medium bodied with medium to medium + acidity and medium fine tannins that lead into a medium to medium long fresh fruit finish. Continued health to everyone. Please be safe and continue social distancing. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 4 years ago
Tart cranberry, good earth tones, great structure, have a few more bottle, feel like they have peaked and will drink soon! — 5 years ago
Black currant, forest floor, button mushroom, cranberry. Not only do I love the people who make this wine, I love everything Cristom does- time after time this wine never disappoints. I want to drink this with every holiday meal! #oregonpinotnoir @cristomwine #cristom #willamettevalley — 5 years ago

In 2019 Lyle said closed us fuck. And the wine is really tough to taste upon opening. Cranberry, tart, very acidic needs more time to open up. Doesn’t really convince me. 17 must have been a tough vintage for them. Will try the big boys Muschelkalk and Buntsandstein next if i can find them in my messy cellar. And then try this again in 2 hours. — 8 months ago
