Loved this one. One of the best reds i’ve had this year. — 5 years ago
Cracked this on Friday before our Christmas party. Then it was drinking like a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.
Diving off into this bad boy this afternoon and it seems to have changed a bit. It's almost like the alcohol increased. It's coming in a little hot on the front end. Mellows out quickly though. It's got a super rich meaty sensation to it that finishes with a little vanilla dancing on the tongue. Good stuff. — 8 years ago
This is a layered narrative of dark fruits, a dash of black pepper, and that unmistakable hint of smoky earth. And undeniably funky. It’s not just about boldness; it’s about a refined grit, a raw elegance that speaks of rugged vineyards and uncompromising craftsmanship. — a year ago
A Santa Barbara stunner! Beautiful garnet color. Exquisite aromas of hibiscus, cranberry and wet gravel. The pallet is plush with flavors of strawberry, cranberry, raspberries and red licorice. Persistent acidity. Fresh and lively! Lighter in body and style but also bold at the same time due to the wine’s incredible balance. Left me wanting more! — 4 years ago
Orange, elderflower, green apple, saline, minerality. Extremely chuggable young summer wine. — 6 years ago
Nice black fruits with a little with of cocoa and a little bit of dust. — 7 years ago
Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.
Very fruity on the nose with blackberries, plums, cooked cherries, oak, dried figs, alcohol, licorice, light oak, spices, chocolates, peppercorn, dark coffee, tobacco and vinegreate.
Full bodied, smooth and bold, with medium acidity and long legs.
Extremely fruity on the palate with sweet cherries, blackberries, figs, raisins, vanilla, wood, smoke, spices, licorice, spices, dark chocolates, black pepper, graphite, light vegetables and coffee.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a wonderful Rhône blend from Santa Barbara County. Nicely balanced with mild complexity and a nice tangy finish. Has a very nice mouthfeel.
(Might have some RS).
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (90 minutes).
Good by itself or with food, like BBQ Meats.
A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvédre, Petite Sirah & Merlot. Aged for 10 months in Oak barrels. 90 points Wine Enthusiasts.
Delightful and delicious.

Plum, smoky, hint of tobacco, smooth and creamy texture, pairs well with red sauce pasta. — 2 years ago
I’m a big fan of PNs from SLH and maybe see SB a second with some others but this Pali (under $20) bottling just kept on opening and ended up with a lot of sweet berries. If you don’t get Pali check them out and join their club. Great drinking whites and reds — 5 years ago
Still a bit young. Tons of complexity and potential. — 7 years ago

I couldn’t pass up picking up a bottle of the “Sideways” 20th anniversary bottling of Hitching Post’s Highliner. Aside from the movie recognition, it’s a damn good Pinot, though a bit heavier in style than others. Vivid, fresh flavors of cranberry and cherry with a bit of spice. Delicious. Fruit sourced from three different vineyards in Santa Barbara County. 100% Pinot Noir. 4/28/25. — 8 months ago
