Ripe dark black cherry and briar. Extremely young, but wonderful exuberant fruit and acid balance. Cool climate Syrah with nice class. Round, smooth, and already showing rounded ripe tannins. I think their syrahs show amazing value and sing with a Swiss steak braise. — 6 years ago
Amazing Chilean wine! But it truly reaches its full potential when you drink it with shellfish, like fresh oysters or scallops! — 7 years ago
Grenache Gris, Blanc, Maccabée et Vermentino! Richesse et fraîcheur bien intégrée. — 8 years ago
One of my favorite cool climate Cali Syrahs. Nice pepper and balanced low alcohol. — 8 years ago
Strawberry shortcake with enough tannins to cut the sweetness. More cake than strawberry. Minerals. Cantaloupe. Really cool, really good — 9 years ago
Pretty medium garnet color, vibrant acidity and bright fresh berry character. No jamminess or white pepper here, just delicious fruit and 12.5% abv. Seductive in its appeal. Well judged oak that never intrudes on the fruit. Dekicious and a benchmark in cool climate shiraz — 9 years ago
Bright red with youthful purple tinges. Fresh aromatic notes showing its youth with spice and peppercorn. A medium bodied Syrah in the northern Rhone cool climate mould. Have always loved this wine and possibly my favourite Under $30 red in Australia. It’s elder brother the “Langi” has skyrocketed in price to $160 a bottle but the Cliff Edge has remained around the $30 mark. Great QPR. Had another bottle 43 weeks later on December 30 2020 with consistent notes although lacking a little fruit - possibly the cooler vintage. Still excellent QPR. Also at Paros like the first bottle. — 5 years ago
Tasted on day 2 and not at proper service temp but this was super cool. Honeyed, deep notes of roasted nuts and dried peach, candy cap mushroom, sweet spices, curry. — 7 years ago
Really cool bubbles from Sicily. I dig. — 8 years ago
Full of life. So fresh, cool, crisp, with those poultry notes that make it very food friendly. I still prefer trout gulch and appreciate the more mineral side of things over there for this producer, this is like the contrast. Not to be overlooked but definitely completely different. — 9 years ago
I love this wine. Subtle nose, generous texture, incredibly refreshing. Aromas of cherry blossom, kaffir lime, citrus, and spearmint. Palate shows a touch of leesy goodness backed by riper orchard fruit. Then this wine moves to something that is reminiscent of cool mountain streams running over wet stones and is so cleansing on the palate. — 6 years ago
A shining example of cool climate, domestic syrah — 7 years ago
Not my preferred style of Chardonnay but intriguing nonetheless. Very very pale colour with a nose of lemon curd. Very acidic on the palate with the faintest whiff of oak and Malo cream. I read that this vineyard was originally planted for sparkling wine and it is reminiscent of a blanc de blancs style with lots of acidity and minerality. Originally $60 Canadian, which is too much, but marked down to $35, excellent value at that price if you’re fond of Chablis style, cool climate chard. — 8 years ago

Deep Ruby in colour. Cherry, red fruits generally, stems and a Jujube confectionery note. Intense red fruits on the medium bodied palate. Lovely texture and mouthfeel - sweetish. So obviously delicious it is difficult to look beyond anything else. From Australia’s most southerly vineyard in the Huon Valley south of Hobart. Visited there a few years ago with the family and had a lovely lunch. This wine won the Trophy for Best Pinot Noir at the Australian Cool Climate Wine Show in 2014 - and one can see why. — 5 years ago
