Light, tingly, perfectly paired with spaghetti and meatballs — 7 months ago
Still showing a lot of tannic and acidic structure, but enough fruit to keep it in check once it had a few hours of air, youthful still, and brawny. — a year ago
Approachable now with red fruit aromas, cranberry, cherry; modest structure and acidity. Clean medium long finish. Good quality and drinks above its level. — 5 years ago
Blackberries and…TOBACCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! — 6 months ago
Medium deep garnet, ruby core with medium light garnet rim . This is quite meaty and deep on the nose , with earthy dark cherry , porcini , sweet blackberry and spiced sous bois . On the palate this is quite severe and serious , darker fruits , ripe blackberry , cherry and hint of blackcurrant, herbal hints. Quite gritty , slightly drying tannins , fresh acidity . Earthy , dusty dark cherry edged finish , ok medium length. Quite ambitious for a village and arguably not ready yet , tannins need a little more time to integrate. From now and over the next 5 years, if not longer . — 9 months ago

The 2019 Sancerre Les Chasseignes has a ripe and open expression. It fills the mouth with a sense of effortlessness, which Stephane Riffault puts down to both the caillottes soil and the ripeness of the vintage. It is in the riper spectrum of Sauvignon aromatics. This wine leaves the variety's green flavors far behind and focuses instead on orchard fruit and almost heads into the realms of tropical fruit, which isn't something you normally associate with Sancerre. Gently refreshing with the caillottes providing a line of chalkiness on the finish. One for the short to medium term due to the vintage's ripe profile. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2021)

Another star in Rosenthal book but I’m a bit puzzled by the muted enthusiasm on Delectable. Sure, not the last word on complexity but what glory in classic chard & Macon notes. Rich & minerally mouthfeel, balanced. Yeah, for less than 15$ local. So what’s the problem? — 7 years ago
High stakes fall baseball and a Sancerre rouge. This is quite nice for the difficult ‘21 vintage. Color is super light. Nose is quite fragrant, with wafting sweet cherry juice, a mid-toned floral note, and flinty crushed stone. Enters gently on the palate, with cherry juice leading, but a bitterish note quickly appears and accelerates on the slightly short finish. Overall, a fine effort given conditions, and lovely with a simply roasted chicken. — 8 months ago

Lemon, green apple, grapefruit, hint of tropical fruit, tons of minerality and acidity. Fresh, tart, memorable. — 8 years ago

Another surprise in the longevity and quality of a well made Bourgogne well aged complexity and length that belies the basic label — 5 months ago
