Domaine Eden

Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

2017 vintage. 2nd label of Mount Eden Vineyards. Domaine Eden is actually from the old Cinnabar property (for those old enough to remember) that was primarily planted to Mount Eden clones of chard and cab, making it ideal/perfect to acquire. This cab is big, with structure and with depth. Helluva deal for this vintage and without smoke taint. — 2 years ago

Mercury Rising Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

Very good blend. Smooth, subtle tannins, soft velvet. Some dark plums but not overly sweet. Would be delicious with duck and plum sauce. — 6 years ago

Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay 2017

Crisp lean style Cali Chard, good acid, golden round fruit, most appropriate Oak. Gotta love those wines that magically get rediscovered in the warehouse.

Good job, George. More please!

Santa Clara Valley Zinfandel 2018

Santa Clara Valley Zinfandel

This is what I want from Zinfandel.
Nice well balanced fruity Zin, not over done in any direction. 14.9% ABV. Wine from and tastes like home, bonus.

🍷🍇🏠 Valley of Heart’s Delight

This is my second bottle, first enjoyed with friends and didn’t rate. The cork on second bottle had slightest of seepage, remove foil and check cork.

Good job George and Grower(s).

More, please!

Ah if only we could turn Silicon Valley back to grapes, peaches, cherries and apricots of the bygone valley. This sounds like a nice way to celebrate the heritage of the good ole V. H. D.

I am all for turning Silicon Valley back into orchards & vineyards. We still have the Libby’s water tower, and Charley Olsons Apricot Heritage Orchard. Not sure what remains of his the last remaining cherry trees? Corn Palace is now housing.

Sandy Lane Vineyard Mourvedre 2015

2015 is young still, velveteen and rich, but rewards the slow sipper... well enjoyed with a garlicky prime rib and tumeric/pepper roasted cauliflower fam. — 5 years ago
