Wow. Very fruit forward with clean finish. — 5 years ago
Pax Cuvée Christine, Sonoma County 2003. Recently started drinking Pax, but this is my first with good age. 16 years but still opened pretty tight despite decanting. Beautiful nose with lots of leather and mushroom. Great earth on the palate, with some dark red fruits and some dried red and maybe some red stone fruits. Served with Shepard’s pie, hen of the woods mushrooms, bucatini with lamb ragu, and broccoli rabe. Still remarkably young, but mellowed with some air. — 6 years ago

Full red with virtually no amber. Inviting aromas of strawberry, woodsmoke, tobacco and earth, plus a cedary balsamic note. Large-scaled, thick wine with sappy pungency to its flavors of redcurrant, tobacco and saline minerality. The wine's fatness is perfectly cut by brisk acidity. Shows sexy notes of evolution but this grand cru finishes with remarkable energy--in fact even a bit clenched. Fans of fully mature Burgundies might want to wait another six to eight years before pulling the cork. Incidentally, Marie-Christine Mugneret singled out 1999 as the year when the estate's wines began to change, as their vineyard work through the '90s bore fruit. The year also witnessed the estate's longest fermentations to that point, due mostly to very high grape sugars. This wine was de-cuved with ten grams of sugar, and the fermentation finished slowly in barrels. (Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, March 2018) — 7 years ago

Sur les fruits noirs, un peu renfrogné, peu expressif. Profond, structuré, mais un peu court. — 5 years ago
Little bit floral. Very juicy. Most amazing maroon color — 6 years ago
Needs to open up 30 minutes or so. Once opened smooth at first with big tannic finish. — 7 years ago

Cheesy and acidic 💪🏻 — 4 years ago
Nice nose of dark fruit and some Vosne spices, the style is slightly extracted, generous with gorgeous fruits and strong powerful tannins, very nice but a finish that is a touch rustic. 89-90
Beau nez sur les Fruits noirs, des épices et un style assez extrait et généreux en bouche, beaucoup de fruits, des tannins puissants, beau vin mais un peu rustique en finale. 89-90 — 4 years ago
Way too rigid at open; even after 2hrs open it was a struggle to really see its potential; although the nez teased so much great red berry and herbs. The second day it was really on - superb depth and balance. This can easily stay in the cellar a while longer. — 6 years ago

I agree with tasting notes by Christine for earlier vintage. Cassie and cedar notes are right on. Big full Bordeaux tannins. — 7 years ago
