This is an absolutely fantastic Bordeaux style. Many claim to make wine in the French style but Clos du soleil really pulls it off. Black cherry, plum, cassis, chokecherry, cinnamon. Medium tannins, very long finish. Unbelievable bottle. — 7 years ago
Definite taste of chokecherry (you likely have to be from the MT West to know what this is like) with smokey smooth undertones. — 9 years ago
2008. Dried roses, chokecherry liquor scents, and I could swear I smell a glacier. I haven't had a Valtellina Nebbiolo this good since the early 80s. Absolute Alpine Nebbiolo perfection. F--- modern Barolo. — 10 years ago
Still bold fruit with strong tannin. Color still bright chokecherry. Lengthy plum finish. Would be excellent with robust foods. We just sipped on its own. — 10 years ago
Oh Tempranillo..... will California prevail over Spain and not give me knives in my stomach? Only time will tell. Now the wine....
Nuts....earth....bitter chocolate on the nose.
Chokecherry. Not very complex but I do like this wine.

1992 vintage, full-bodied, notes of blackberry, chokecherry, and tobacco. Decant. Opens up. — 8 years ago
Rich chokecherry syrup nose with an earthy undertone. Dusty cherry, leather, and crushed rocks in the mouth. Fair amount of fine-grained tannin. Nice! — 10 years ago
Sour-tart red fruit. Chokecherry with a little funk.

Mom and I picked this up in SD during our road trip and I’m enjoying it in memory of that trip!! Generally sweet, but with a tart kick at the end #prairieberry #roadtripwine #coronavino — 5 years ago
Light fruit nose with a whiff of mushroom and earth. Tasting notes of dark fruit, sea breezes, hint of licorice, and a tart chokecherry finale! Wow, what a fun journey. — 5 years ago
A very distinctively-styled Neb. The nose suggests a very lean wine: cracked stone minerality holds sway over tart, crisp chokecherry scents. A hint of spice. In the mouth, it is lean, but surprisingly weighty and long. Austere in the best sense. Great length, purity, and acidity. Would be absolutely phenomenal with a rich beef tomato and red wine braise. Excellent value. — 8 years ago
Traditionally-styled. Very light color. Medium intensity nose of stony gravel, chokecherry and underbrush. Nice flavor intensity but a soft, light mouthfeel. Lingering finish. Was very nice and cleansing with a rich, tomatoey pasta sauce. Was a gift from my brother--thanks Ang.
UPDATE: Night 2 it showed much more intense fruit and flavor intensity. — 9 years ago
Nice, delicious Malbec. Dried fruit and nuts on the nose with earthy and spicy palette of cedar and chokecherry. — 10 years ago

Delicious and complex. Not yet fully mature. Striking, youthful color. Nose has tons of gravel, iodine, chokecherry liqueur. Concentrated and medium-bodied in the mouth. Great acids. Youthfully assertive but reasonably soft tannins. Flavors on the savory side and linger. Can’t wait until the Brasato is done to pair this. — 4 years ago
